Put some rain guards over the side windows

My father in law had and extra set of rain guards from a pickup, they looked like they might be a good fit for my side windows, they fit pretty good, I'm not sure they will do much more that the ridge already there but they look pretty good.

James PLEASE let us know how well these work when it's raining... I mean REALLY raining. Those of us with radius sliders are always looking for methods (that don't entail drilling through the shell) to keep the rain OUT. This may be the solution for those that are lookin'

Jim, I've pointed several folks to the EZ gutter. And, from what I understand they work well. But I like the looks of the plexi awnings James put on the window. And we all know... it's about 'looks.'

I am also very interested in something that will allow me to keep the rain out but the slider window open a little bit.

I like the Window Maxx (link: here) or something similar, but do not want to screw into my frame/trailer.

Has anyone tried tape (perhaps the 3M VH or various sealants or adhesives to hold this on rather than screwing it?

The problem with the Window Maxx is it has to be screwed down tight to make a watertight seal between the vent and the windows. They have a rubber flange that seals against the sliding window. I do not think VHB tape can hold the vent tight enough to create that seal. I could be wrong, have been in the past!!!

Maybe a combo of both would work. The visor's tape may not keep all the water from dripping, but with the gutter zee on top it should keep water other than falling off the visor.

I also have a blank of a time opening the sliding window. It's hard to tell when it's locked or not and then it never slides easily. I tried the trick of rubbing a bar of soap in the track but it didn't seem to help. Does anyone have some ideas as to how to easily open the slider?

A little weight lifting? Seriously, about the best you can do would be to keep the tracks very clean, and that is hard to maintain.

I have the Window Max installed on this side. Keeps rain out with the Fantastic Fan on max. the Window Max screws into the window frame, not the trailer wall and is a fairly easy install.

You will see above the window a strip of standard vinyl J channel that I installed above both side windows and over the back door to catch rain coming off of the roof. I attached it with some 3M 'Pretty Darn Sticky"(I forget the part number) double sided tape. Works OK in light rain, but not in a storm. If you think this will work for you, I would extend it a bit further beyond the window frame. It would work better over a true vertically mounted window. It does do a good job over the door.

Pick up a can of spray silicone lubricant; it'll spread under the slider section and won't wash out as easily as soap does.

Hi guys couldn't help reading your post which there all good but if I may say I was having the same problem until I thought I try putting the same guards I have in my back window of my Chevy Tahoe n I must say they work great not only it keeps the rain out but I can open my slider window with no problems n there not screwed in also they stay on wen I'm driving down 95 doing 70mph.
