Question about how to bring the DirecTV cable into the Casita
Currently, the DirecTV Satellite cable, comes into the Casita via the refrigeration unit. The problem with this method is that the cover, of the refrigeration unit, can no longer be closed. Our TV is installed against the Microwave wall in the Liberty.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried bringing the cable, into the Casita, through the electrical cable unit. One advantage, the door already has an opening for the cable

I don't see why that wouldn't work, getting a RV bulkhead connection installed wouldn't be a bad idea and depending on the style, would require a minimal amount of work.

Cable and Sat Input
Here's our solution. We drilled two holes in the side of the trailer added a jack plate and a water tight cover. All parts from Lowes.
We have two jacks. One is connected to the sat dish input of the receiver and the other to the cable input of the receiver.

Thomas G;
Yes, it's just a PVC threaded pipe plug and a PVC threaded pipe cap, and a nut from an electrical box connector.
I drilled the plug to accept a double male cable connector (the kind with a nut on one side),Then drilled the camper wall to accept the plug,which was attached through the wall with the E-box nut and a dab of silicone.
I then shortened the rounded cap to get the "button" look for a cover.
Total cost something under $2.
GregH;
I guess that is what you call it.

Hi Norm and Ginny:
Thanks for your responds. This is exactly what we need. Our receiver requires two cables. I printed out your message for Hubby and the bonus ..... the parts can be found at Lowes. Later this month the Casita comes home Let the spring mods begin.

Thank you so much ..... your mod solves our 'Internet cable' problem. I use an Internet Antenna to get a better signal. Currently I have to open the screen, from the emergency window, to get the cable into the Casita.
Of course in the summer that also allows the bugs to enter and in the spring and fall the cold air.
Thank you. What a perfect mod.

Nice, I love seeing simple, inexpensive parts solve seemingly complex problems. I think that electrical box connector nut is available in plastic or aluminum for worry worts about rust, like me.

Thank you for the kind words! For the worry wart in you...
The picture was taken this year, and the mod is eight years old.
No rust yet.
I will say one thing about all mods in general though,you should always take pictures when done to tell if you are really done! [lol] Just like when you see a photo of yourself, the flaws always show in the shots!
