Maybe everyone already knows about these, but I thought I'd share the tip. These clamps are used extensively for offroad travel and anywhere you need to secure something and protect it. I have made extensive use of them! I've got an axe, shovel, flashlights, hand saw, and even a rifle rack made with these clamps. I have been over roads that most would look at once and turn back. They have never lost their grip on anything. The possibilities for securing items are endless. They come in a number of sizes and configurations. They are rubber so the part they hold is protected somewhat from vibration and shock, They are not likely to mark finishes either. It pays to shop the price too! I found a place on ebay that had them very cheap and I bought a box full. I'll see if I can find that source. Once you get started using them you can't stop! I imagine they would be great for securing an unruly child or keeping a roll of summer sausage on the dash
