For fixed operation, I am using an MFJ "fishing pole" mast (vertical) and am clamping it to the jack on the front (approx 30' high). Couple of hose clamps hold it up just fine. Using a broadband manual tuner, it works well on 80-10m. Have an old Icom 7000 for the rig,
solar charger and running off the 12V system, plus a backup LI-FE
battery pack with
solar charger as well. Should have the whole rig at the hamfest in Shelby, NC this year. Mobile and FM ops are normally from the TV.
I do have a 35' pushup mast, but carrying it is a problem. It will hold 6m, 2m and 220 yagis, rotator by armstrong or an old RS rotor (using an old inverter for power) makes it a nice rover rig. Do we need an "Fibreglass Egg net?"
