Removing AC from window.

I've camped most of the summer and haven't used my AC yet. But I do wish I had a heater while in the Rockies.......but I digress...if I pull out the window mounted AC, are window/glass shops able to build sliders and a screen to replace what's there now? Anyone done this? Thanks....happy camping!
