Replacement Awning Fabric.

I just received a new replacement fabric for my 10' A&E Dometic awning for my 17' Bigfoot in 7 days after ordering it.
It arrived in a cardboard tube 93.5" long in great shape, rolled neatly opposite to the installation direction, i.e. sideways, with the groove 'ropes' at each end.
I bought it through the 'Auction Place' from RVFirstChoice (Ricky's RV Repair - Sevierville, TN) at a good price and it sure smells new. ($222 + $45 SH) to Florida.
No relationship with him but excellent price and service.
If your old awning is ripping, dripping, moldy, or really looking bad, a replacement fabric isn't as pricey as first thought. Old one was over 18 years old - it was due!

Thanks Michael firsthand knowledge is ALWAYS a good thing when thinking about dealing with a previously unknown company.

Replaced awning!

Finally, we got a chance to replace the awning. After unrolling the new one completely, I found a channelling plastic cap for feeding the awning onto the roller, 2 long cotter pins for locking the torsion springs (pieces of coat hangar wire work better as the cotter pins deform and are harder to remove), and a set of instructions to do the job. My wife and I took about 2 1/2 hours to do it with several small hitches.
The most annoying one was that the recommended 8 turns to torsion the springs wasn't enough, and I then gave it 3 more. That meant some disassembly, which took more time.
So, under 'normal' conditions, 2 hours should do it!
It looks NEW again!
