Replacing a Suburban NT12SE with a NT16SEQ

Has anyone replace an old Suburban furnace (12SE) with the one they sell now (16SEQ)? I'm wondering if the intake and exhaust ports on the shell will line up or if new one's will have to be cut. My thought is that I can get a repair kit of the 12SE and new motor (sounds like and airplane taking off right now) or but a new furnace for more $$$. The thing with the new one's is that they are supposed to be quieter. Not sure how much. My current one is from 2001 and the heat exchangers are kinda rusty and perhaps it would be best to replace.

As I recall from looking thru parts manuals, the heat exchanger on the 12SE and 16SE are the same part, so the larger furnace should be a bolt-in.

FWIW, I can't imagine the 16SE being any quieter than the 12SE, as the design and many of the parts is exactly the same.

Thanks Dan. My understanding is that the 16SE "Q" is redesigned and the "Q" meaning quiet(er) than the older models. Fan redesigned and not sure what else. I sent an email to Airexcel who manufactures them asking about fit and noise level. Still waiting, and waiting....
