Beautiful work! At some point, I'd be very curious what it weighs with all the mods. But in the meantime, have a wonderful trip! Get ready for a lot of interest every place you stop.

MRClaus - the latch on the fridge is a baby latch we picked up at Wal-Mart in the baby aisle! It has peel and stick adhesive on both sides and a catch in between. They came in a two pack.

That is wonderful...

What an incredible job! It never ceases to amaze me when people strip these babies down to nothing and start from scratch. If you want to share, I would love to know the price to do this versus buying new. Of course, it is not about that, but I would never have the patience to do that job. Nor the skill! I love watching the progress and looking at all the mods on this site. We had a Scamp we remodeled, (but not like THAT!) and eventually might remodel the new Casita too, but not for a couple of years! (We pick it up in Sept...) she is a beauty, and I can imagine you might never get rid of her... I certainly couldn't. It was hard enough selling our Scamp. Which I swore I would never do!
Have fun and I really hope to run into you on the road. I would love to see it in person!

Deb - All told, I think we have about $7500 into it, plus a bunch of man hours. No, I don't think we would sell it. We love it way too much! I think the new ones run about double that at minimum. I don't think we would ever get out of it what we put into it, but when does that ever happen on a labor of love?

Of course we were able to do it in pieces and build it exactly the way we wanted. We are using it for the next two weeks in fact. So far we have spent 4 nights in it and love it more every night. We have gotten several looks and many comments just getting here...and we are expecting a ton more when we get to Ft. Wilderness in a few days...

Here's a pic of our latest stop! We are the smallest unit in the campground with the exception of the tear drop trailer a couple of spaces down!

It looks like a million bucks! I especially like the ghostly reflections in the perfect polish.

Now that you are done, relax and enjoy!

It's been a while since I've been on here, but I wanted to share that our maiden voyage of the Haunted Mansion was a great success! I've updated the blog about the whole experience (though there's still more I have yet to add, including our second trip which was much closer to home!) but at least it's a start! I invite you to check out the blog - http://sohkraites.wordpress.com.

Thanks again for everyone's help and support in helping us resurrect this awesome trailer!

- Tony

Tony how beautiful you and your Myka have made the Mansion! What a gem. I loved reading your Blog, really entertaining to say the least. So glad you and your family are enjoying the Mansion on a roll to exciting places and fun times. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us all. Loved the key presentation!

…we learned that a roll of paper towels will unroll in transit. Thankfully it unrolled and subsequently folded neatly in the sink. Next time, a clothes pin will have to hold the roll in place!

The spectral residents were at work while you were driving!

Very nice pictures and report, thanks for posting.

Out of this world, out o our ken! Not a ghost of a chance you'll be parting with her, I'm sure.
