What have you used for the rockguard on the front? Is it a spray on Line-X type of material. How much did that portion cost ya?

rockguard

Hi Rick
The rockguard on the front is a thin rubber - it is quite flexible and stretchable. It is the result of a couple previous botched tries at a decent looking rock guard.
First I tried that spray on stuff but just wasn't pleased with the result - then I bought some black vinyl/rubber stuff and tried to put it on ... but the curvature of the trailer and the stiffness of the material didnt make for a very professional looking job.
Finally, my neighbour came by and said that they had some very flexible thin rubber at his work and he'd bring some home for me.
It worked really well - and it was free.
The key to this process is to make a pattern by taping sheets of paper together onto the front of the trailer. You will be surprised at the odd shape you get when you take it off.
The edge of the rockguard is finished with chrome stick on vehicle trim. Really finished it off.
Laura

That rock-guard job is amazing and looks excellent. :)

I was asking because I have a mess on mine that was there when I bought it last fall - I've been mulling over what to do with it.

Do you have a product name that you used?

interior photos

Hi Ches
Thanks for the compliment on the paint - I am quite pleased with it as well. I used Marine Paint and a high density foam roller to apply it.
Unfortunately I do not know the name of the rubber that I used on the rock guard. When I see my neighbour I'll ask him if he knows what it is called.
Interior photos you ask - of course I have some!
I have recovered my cushions and put new foam in them and painted the inside walls. I have left things somewhat original - using plaid on the cushions and have so far curbed the desire to paint the cupboard doors some funky color ... they are in such good shape it seems a shame to mess with them.
I am also attaching a picture of my closet reno - I added some shelves and drawers.

What kind of handles do you have on your cabinets, and do you like them? Any one else with any good suggestions, as we are looking to changing ours out with maybe new doors. Can you get a close up shot? Thanks.

Ken, thanks for posting the pictures. The Outback is really nice on the inside (as well as the outside). Man, love that fridge. Looks like it even has a little freezer. Great:wave

Awning!

I like the awning...I WANT THE AWNING. I've chosen NOT to get the Scamp optional awning, because I don't like the fact the "legs" rest on the ground. I can just envision my daughter running into a leg and bending it, or the wind picking the entire thing up and tearing it off the egg. Now I realize just because the whole thing is attached to the trailer, doesn't mean the wind can't damage it. But this method is slick.

Anyone have any ideas on how I get ahold of the manufacturer?? Web site???

THANKS!
:P
