Came back from this weekend's Eggfest in Kingston Ontario (thanks again, Vivian!)...with a new "must have" on my list.
Love those roll-up awnings (on the new Outback) and the after market units with the curved side arms. Saw two new units there...a Carefree and a Dometic.
What else is there out there that is easy to deploy/ roll up?
We winter in the Keys and the Trade winds can whip up around 2:00 am and just start my A & E shademaster to flap and snap so there's no sleep possible.
I have resigned myself to rolling it up nightly (pay me now or pay me later
)...but the Shademaker is not user friendly for a one person stow.
Soooo...I'm looking for a non-electric roll-up or crank up unit that will withstand wind, stay put during the day, allow me to quickly put it away when the thunderboomers come out of the Gulf, and not cost me a gynormous amount of cash.
This is my third year with the Shademaster, and I would rate it as...just OK.
Workmanship is adequate but the use of dis-similar metals has resulted in some corrosion issues. I have it as a bag
awning, and it is ten feet wide, I added a new aluminum
awning tube at almost roof level, and the amount of shade is great. I know that the roll-ups won't be as wide, but ease of operation will over-ride coverage.
I'd sure appreciate any user input?advice? and price info.
Thank you fellow eggers
