Rooftop AC removal

I have a fiberglass RV with a rooftop air conditioner. I never use it, don't plan on going south in the summer(if at all). Has anyone ever eliminated a roof top unit from a casita.

Only concern might be resale value. Plus, patching roof would be a lot of work to eliminate A/C. Could possibly install a vent/fan in its place, or a skylight which might require enlarging the opening.

The one RV A/C unit that I removed was on a pop-up camper. It was made to fit in the opening for a normal roof vent. After removing the A/C unit I just put wire nuts and tape on the remaining wires and bought a standard size roof vent from a local RV dealer and installed it using butyl tape. Simple!

I have never seen an RV roof a/c unit that didn't fit in a standard 14" x 14" opening. You can fill the hole with any of the standard roof vents or something like a FanTastic vent. You can reconnect the a/c wiring to the 12 volt system for fan power from the battery.

A few years ago I removed a vent 14x14 installed a AC unit in the hole. It will be easy to do the swap.
