I took a BATH in my trailer last nite! LOL!

I was a bit tired of the small bin I use to catch water for my shower set up. While wandering Big Lots yesterday, I found 30 gallon totes on sale for 5 bucks.

"Hmnn" I said to myself, "Theres a little more foot room".

I set the big 5 gallon pot on the stove to heat my shower water, but overdid it. It boiled. To cool it down, I usually add cold water, but the pot was full. So, I looked in that big tub, calculated and said to myself "Self, you are so small, you could use that as a bathtub."

So, I dumped the boiling water in, grabbed the hose and filled partway to cool.

Worked great! Not something I would want to do everyday, it took awhile, but it was kind of nice to soak, even if I wasn't lying down.

Keep it clean Roger, this is a family forum

Sounds like things worked out perfectly for your soak Gina! Yep, you're a petite person... I'm sitting here with a 30 gallon tote near by and I know without a doubt I couldn't squeeze into it from the knees up! The only thing petite about me is my brain. The next time someone asks about a bathtub in a small trailer...we can now point out your topic

Ok - all the innuendo aside, I'm having trouble imagining how you got into the thing? I'm picturing my 30 gal trash bin - too tall to just step in - too flimsy to climb into - ????

Great , wasn't it, Gina ? I had a similar set up, and porta potti, when I had to move into my unfinished house. I was offered big bucks for the old one, if I would vacate right away. Money talks !! I used my whistling kettle full of hot water, and a gallon jug of cold, in a big plastic storage container, and that worked out about right. I liked camping in my new house, but of course, I was tickled pink when I finally got all the plumbing in.
Happy trails, Penny

Anne, actually I was only half-kidding. I'd really love to see how she actually rigged this thing. I think someone would have to dislocate every joint in my body to get me into something like that!

It isn't complicated. Its one of the rectangular storage totes that fits across the width of the area in front of the bed and closet. No special rigging, it just sits there on the floor.

I get in it by... sitting down. I can't stretch out my legs in it fully, but close enough.

Remember, I am only 5 feet tall.

Gina, I assume that you mean something like a Roughneck Storage Box - 31 gal. We have a few of these, for general storage around the house, so that's what I am picturing. Anne, these are not upright like a garbage can, so they would be easy to step into; the dimensions for this particular model (I have several of these) are given on the web page as 32.3x20.4x16.7in., which is quite bathtub-shaped (but very small).

I can't see getting into one, either, but I understand I'm bigger than Gina... my inseam is longer than the tote, so obviously I wouldn't get anywhere near stretching my legs out.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

I suspect this would be better for children. As I smell my stinky little dogs, they may be the next Tote Victims

Hey Fred can you put wheels on that thing so I can tow it behind the Boler? I LOVE those nice big tubs!

Gina of all the people I know only you and one other could fit in one of those totes.

I almost had a promo photo done of me, dressed in leathers, sitting in a hot tub on a sunny California day with a laptop flipped open. It went well with my "Internet. With an Attitude." trademark.

I use one of the smaller --78 gal tote to bath the grandkids when camping--one at a time please( bathing & camping)-- we have 1-4 1/2 year old & 3- 2 1/2 year olds -- one set of twins --kids belong to 2 of our daughter
the kids love it -we even use the tote as a pool if we are camped far from the swimming hole
of course all this is outside-- wish I could fit in--not a chance
