Rust-O-Leum paint on bedliner on my CT-13

Finally decided to cover up the rock chips on the bottom front of my CT-13. I used the Rust-O-Leum paint on bedliner, used 1 quart which was enough for 3 coats on the area shown. Cleaned the area with alcohol, sanded with fine 220 grit and then wiped with alcohol again. Masked off areas and used a small foam roller to apply it, went on very easy like regular paint. Here are pics after the second coat. I'll post pics of the finished product later tonight.

Three coats total with enough left over for future touch ups if needed. Finished pics, it now baking in the afternoon sun and breeze.

Yes, no need to buy a full gallon unless you are doing a larger area. A word, use the smaller foam rollers not regular sized rollers with the deep napp or you will soak up a whole lot of wasted bedliner. Also use the smaller trays not the big ones. Got the supplies for like $5.00 at walmart. The roller I used was similar to this, I think it said for cabinets and trim.

really nice!

considering this exact job to my Play Pac. after 37 years, its had its fair share of nicks and dings - some right through to the glass.

looks great! thanks for sharing.

If you can paint a wall you can do this. Another tip is to wear rubber gloves, this stuff is hard to get off your hands. Also, make sure you tape well.

The hardest part of doing this is taping off the radius, especially on rounded trailers. I didn't measure and had to eye everything because the reference points on each side are different, the hardest part was trying to make sure the curves looked the same and terminated at about the same spot on each side.

Nicely done!

I want to do something like this to my Burro when my dad and I do its makeover this winter. I am sad that there are so few colors to choose from, though. I want something in brown and can't find a product that offers much more than black/red/gray.

Jen, check out Grizzly Grip. It comes in tons of colors. It's made for DIY.

Donna! You're a champion! Thank you thank you! I wanted something in a version of brown and they have THREE different options!

This is me geeking out about bedliner on a rainy day:

Yep, check out this link to photos Brad and Jenny posted about their total rework of a Boler. They used Durabak rather than Grizzley Grip, but it was still a DIY job. I think it looks terrific!

Nice restoration/improvements. I wonder it the bedliner improves the insulation. I am curious as to the weight. I particularly like the mount/ lockdown foe the propane tank--looks very secure and clean looking.
