I took the one off my Scamp ten years ago and threw it away (rusty piece of junk). Still doesn't have one and haven't missed it. YMMV

We had one on our 03'. I think it may have been intended to keep the door from sagging while traveling??? Our 2010 doesn't have it but I still have to carpet clean the bottom of the door every year because the foam seal rots.

I added one to our (1990) Scamp, along with automotive style rubber seals for the door opening and the door. This little device keeps the leading edge snug to the body.

David,
Do you have a picture of how it works? I have a '76 13' Scamp and the door was terribly saggy, I split the door and pulled the crud out and fixed the curve but there is still a tiny gap so I'm wondering if this will help.

Jim, I don't have a picture of the bracket, but it is attached to the front lower part of the door opening which guides the lower part of the leading edge of the door closer to the body. If you click on our avatar and go to our pictures, you can see the rubber door seal that I used. There is quit a long thread on this where item numbers were finally located.
