Scamp New Floor Progress

I've got the flooring down in the main part of the Scamp! I went with Allure. Before I put things down I sealed the floor, and then laid in some poly by the front door to tighten things up a bit more:

Of course, I put a piece of paper under the sheeting to say "here we are!".

Here's where things are now:

Next up is to put the flooring in the back. I'm going to build a little box-like structure to fit around the pipes in back. Last up will be the carpet on the side. I've not quite decided what I want to do around the curve of the wheel.

We're off to the lumber yard tomorrow for some oak boards and miscellaneous trim. Fun!

...and the work continues. I pulled out the carpet under the dinette and leveled up with pine to get the floor level above the piping:

I fit a nice piece of oak to the front and cove molding to the side. I'll be staining the wood this evening. I carefully measured where the pedestal base went in, and that will return in short order after I clean the nasty "cat fur" off it.

Beautiful job on the floors. That extra 3' of Scamp sure gives you a lot more room compared to my 13 footer. But I'm still happy to be a Scamper. Hope you're able to start enjoying it soon. You're doing a great job.

Floors are DONE!

The floor and floor trim is, except for the very front, done!

I'm especially pleased the way the dinette area came out.

Next up is getting molding up where the door was and fitting a final panel. Then it's Dorothy's turn with the cushions and curtains.

Love it! I'll be starting our floors soon. Might have a question at that point!

Gary, that floor is gorgeous. I have some repairs to do to my Ranger and our 87 16ft Scamp first, but I can't wait to put in similar flooring.

Also- I noticed your address in the note to future owner(s)- I happen to live right on the south side of Lake Como. If you ever need a helping hand, feel free to send me a pm. I'm just up the street.

Hey Drew! Good to know. And... my big band, The River City Jazz Orchestra, is playing the pavilion Thursday night over at Lake Como. Fun starts at 7PM. Look for the geek with the long hair in the trombone section. That's me!
