Scamp Seam Tape

I know I could measure it all but... is one 50 foot roll of tape enough to do the seams on my 13' Scamp?

Scamp says it's enough to do a 13' but, if you haven't already you might want to look at this thread - http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ape-57419.html - before investing in the Scamp seam tape. I have a full roll that I bought to do my Scamp 13 but have not used it yet. I may not considering all the problems folks here on the forum have had with the stuff not sticking properly. I do have a hot glue gun with lotsa glue sticks but don't really want to go that route unless necessary...

Thanks. I have been searching around and I really like the look of the Scamp tape. I wonder if I could use the double sided basting tape I use when I am doing boat canvas work. It is super sticky and could be applied before the seam tape on either side of the seam.

Seamstick 3/8" Basting Tape for Canvas (50 Yds)

The linen tape also looks like a good alternative.

BTW the elephant skin is cleaning up well and I am really looking forward to putting some paint on.

Jen, since you're going to paint the ensolite... have you considered an alternative to seam tape? I like this solution, and it could be any design you choose: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ams-26632.html

Well, I think I have decided that it cleaned up well enough so that I won't have to paint it. I can ignore a few places that aren't up to par. So I guess I will keep working and see what I decide about the tape.

It just seams like there should be a good white foam tape out there somewhere...

I don't like the Scamp tape.
I've used it on 2 Scamps and had to use a hot glue gun on both trailers.
Scamp advised me to use the hot glue gun.
I've spent hours on the Internet looking for a substitute.
The glazing tape from Glasswarepro is a 1/8 " thick foam tape like the Scamp tape but it's 1/4 inch wider and unlike Scamp tape IT STICKS to the Ensolite.

It comes in black and gray.
I like the gray much better than the white.
