Screen door

Does anyone have a source for a 13' screen door that isn't the one scamp sells?

Or, does anyone own the screen door that scamps sells?

I'm sure you know that they now offer a different Screen door than the bi-fold door which has been offered successfully for decades.
I have yet to see one of the new ones but it slides from one side to the other to open or close.
Pictures anyone?

I own a Scamp with a bi-fold door and an ETI custom built 5vr. Both trailers screen doors keep the bugs out! Granted I don't live where there's No-Seemums" But, I'm happy with both screen doors. YMMV.

Olivia, I'm a little confused as to what you want… Are you looking for the new-style sliding screen door, the old-style bi-fold screen door, or something else?

If it's the new sliding style, it appears to be custom made for the exact application. You could order it through Scamp (ask about fit with a pre-fire unit) or perhaps you could find a local distributor. It looks like the new style will make a better seal against bugs, but the lower track will tend to catch dirt and it could be expensive to repair if it breaks or is torn.

If it's the bi-fold style you want, I believe it was custom made by Scamp, and they may not sell it anymore. However, member Norm (Honda03842) made one from scratch for his 1991 Scamp 16. His is similar to the OEM unit Scamp used to supply and the design could be adapted to a variety of trailers with curved sides and doors. There's no lower track to keep clear of dirt and it's constructed from off-the-shelf hardware store parts.

Norm's Bi-fold Screen Door (starts in post #506)

There was a post a while back about the Scamp roll up to the side door. I thought I saved the mfg. link but no such luck. I also can not find the post but it did list the mfg. Like stated above it was a special order from the mfg.

I was just trying to find out the same (i.e., the manufacturer)… no luck. But I did read on Scamp's website that the new sliding screen door is designed so that if a pet (or a child) punches through it, you can roll it back in and it will self-repair. Apparently it's made of overlapping sections of screen fabric.

Escapes used a bi folding door for awhile but have used retractable screen doors for some time now - or at least they still were the last I looked .. You may want to ask an Escape owner what brand they are or even ask Escape directly.

screen door 2016 Scamp

Here ya go.
The jury is still out with us and our feelings about the change. There is a channel track on the floor, in the entrance threshold. Not sure about that at all. Time will tell.
