Is this good?

Princess Auto has screening available in their surplus here for $1.00 per foot (36" wide), is this a good price?

Thomas Haney - Outdoor Shower

Hi everyone. I was reading through the posts regarding the screen door and saw the post regarding an outdoor shower. I would love to hear more about that. I have been admiring one on the Prairie Bolerama site - Brad and Jen's. Sounds like a great idea.

TIA.:cheers

Screen door

Maggie, would you be willing to post your plans for the screen door for everyone?? It looks like you did a GREAT job. We have a screen now, but if we ever wanted to replace it, (we have big dogs, and they have a thing about squirrels. so far so good) I would love to have the plans handy. It looks great.

Hi,
This kind of screen door is really easy to make. You just buy do it yourself screen framing, two sets of plastic corners, screen, & spline. We bought four 30inch piano hinges. We made sure the metal screw plate on the hinges was the same width as the screen frame. We counted the screw holes and got enough tiny screws to attach the hinges. The screws that came with the hinges were too long, and would have gone right thru the screen framing. We made two long narrow doors. We used aluminum screen since we just happened to have it. It is nice and strong, but it is rather sharp around the edges. Our door is about 64 inches. Since there is only 60 inches of hinge per door there is a space in the middle. This is where we attatched a leather handle, and a knob on the inside. We put a strap near the bottom to pull it snug against the door frame. We noticed the door sort of binds against the floor and thought, "works for us". (The last photo shows the door does not shut square.) We put a small piece of velcro at the top to keep it closed. We may add a little strap at the top to really pull it into the velcro, but it works without it. I think if we wanted to use this door in serious mosquito country we'd probably have to put something along the inside top. We built a wooden door frame to attatch these doors to which is screwed onto the fiberglass. We are not carpenters so I'll leave tips for doing that part to the experts. That's it.

But, but, but... they're beautiful pics!! :sunny Nice composition, nice sizes, perfect resolution (sharp).

I'm sorry they were a problem to upload (we're working on improving our system for that) but they're worth your efforts!

Okay, for you, two cheers (waves):
