Small fold down bedside shelf - Fiberglass RV

I never have a place to put my bed time accessories... Before everyone goes nuts, I'm talking about flashlight, water bottle, glasses etc.

I ended up buying the folowing materials at a local Lowes:

I then routed out a place for the big hinge which will swing down when in the up position to act as a brace... In the down position the brace hinge folds flat inside the shelf. here it is being epoxied in place:

Here it is with a hot glue layer just to look a little nicer and make me feel like it's sturdier. Mounting hinges have been installed too:

And here it is doing it's job. When you lift it up from the down position the brace hinge swings down and I just line it up with some rubber bumpers I've stuck in just the right spot to level the shelf and keep the brace hinge in place.

I made a similar thing in my 13 foot burro. Its VERY handy!

That looks great! I discovered by accident that my garbage can makes a nice end table.
