It's hard to be in the trailer for seven weeks, as we did this summer on our trip to Nova Scotia, without thinking about some improvements one would make upon returning home.
Our refrigerator, a Majic Chef 3.6 cu/ft, crapped out on us about the forth week into the trip. I wanted to install a Danby DAR125SLDD, which is a little bigger 4.4 cu/ft. and has no freezer compartment, which is useless anyway.The Majic Chef fit into an 18.5 in. wide opening and the Danby needed 21 in. I had little trouble widening the opening, and hoped I didn't need to modify the countertop for height. Caution is needed when pulling out the existing refrigerator so as not to damage the vinyl flooring. I wanted to install wooden flooring, so I had to route the countertop about 1/4" to account for the flooring thickness. I also installed a shelf above the sofa, so that I could install some LED reading lights, as we do a lot of reading in the trailer. I chose GoWise GW21500 and also installed one over the bed, so we could read there as well. Then I designed a sliding support to do away with the metal table support. I did not like having the base for the table located where it was. I stubbed my toe one night and that was enough. I am enclosing some photos of the remodel. Note the security light I installed on the door so I could see the key lock at night. Next I'll be mounting my spare on the side of the trailer and get it out of the storage well. Happy Trails

Is the light over the bed stuck onto the fiberglass or did you actually penetrate the surface with screws? I would like such a light, but am afraid to put screws or nails into the fiberglass.

An alternative to screws is very high bond strength tape. We use it to hold up a spice rack and a medicine rack. In 1000'2 of miles they are still in place.

I glued the wood backing and wire mould but sure like the tip about the tape

The shelf over the couch is on my wish list.
The wood floor and that oak table sure change the looks.

We have screwed lots of stuff to the our Snoozy's walls with half inch self taping metal screws. That ability is one of the reasons I bought that brand.

Did you consider any 12v models?

I don't know anything about 12v refrigerators, but would like to learn about them for future consideration. Any info on brands and where one could purchase these would be appreciated.

The wooden backing for the light over the bed was both glued and screwed. I have used 1/2" screws in other remodel applications with no problems. Just be careful!!!

BTW... how long would such a refer run without draining the battery. I am considering adding another deep cycle marine type battery to supplement the one we have. Any suggestions??? Thanks

There have been quite a few discussions of these refrigerators in this forum. To find them, I suggest using the Google search option (or a regular Google search qualified by "site:fiberglassrv.com") for the term "danfoss". That brand name (of a compressor used in 12V refrigerators) occurs in almost every one of these refrigerator discussions, but not in any other context.

My shell must be thinner than everyone else's.
I've gone through in a couple places.
What I've done is used double sided tape and then
a 1/2" screw just to make the tape stick tighter.

Last night we saw the latest Snoozy design at the RV show in Greensboro. Apparently Glenn is not the only one to stump his toe on the table base mount. Now the base is flat on the floor. Alan said it took a while to find a supplier that makes a decent mount that didn't cost a fortune, but this one should do the trick. If we get down that way, we will stop by and get the flat kind installed.

I make sure the thing I am screwing to the wall is at least an 1/8" or so. No protrusions so far.

Susie - did you notice if the model they were showing (which is the one we saw in the show room, I think) had a rear bumper? Does your unit have such a bumper?
