Source: Chrome lug nuts

To go along with the new center caps I also ordered new lug nuts. I was going to go with stainless steel, however most of those were not solid but rather a two piece unit. The brand in the link below are chrome but claim to be much higher quality and more resistant to rust. Forum posts elsewhere seem to agree. Each package includes enough for one axle.

I enjoy researching on the internet, but it is a bit embarrassing when the wife asks "What are you doing?" and I have to reply "Researching lug nuts..."

Costco tire shops in our area have the best price around on chrome lug nuts. Well under $1.00 ea.

I'll let you know in 5 years if it was worth the extra cost--what I am looking for is no rust for a long time. Perhaps it is most cost effective to buy three sets of the Costco ones for the price of one set of the McGard brand. But, if they are the standard cheap chrome, then they will slowly rust over time and then you have to decide when they finally look bad enough to bother replacing.

Kind of a dumb thing to worry about, but we all have issues...

Can't beat Costco's return policy.

Chrome wheels REQUIRE chrome lug nuts

The scrurge is water. Keep all the chrome well waxed and you'll be fine. Oh... and use a torque wrench when mounting the wheels so you don't crack the chrome.

Anyone remember Crager Super Spokes? Talk about spending bucks on wax to keep the rust at bay... how well I know

The Gorilla brand lug nuts were often mentioned along with the McGard brand. It looks like Gorilla is probably the best, but they cost almost twice as much again so I thought I would try the McGard. The vendor you linked to, Summit Racing, is where I found the great price on stainless steel center caps.
