Different time zones. It's several hours before the sun comes up here in Portland. Bet folks on the east coast are reading the morning paper and having breakfast while everyone here sleeps...

I do really like it and the workmanship seems good, but only time will tell.
Tire covers definitly are an easy way to make a positive change.
I can only imagine wha the people following behind me are going to think...Hope it puts a big smile on their faces!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Donna....you are absolutely right about the time zone differences I didn't even look at the time zone Danny is in....nevertheless, I appreciate all the fast answers to my query.

My new wheel cover

I was just looking at all the nice wheel covers.

I'm making my own cover. I machine embroidered the design, and I made the cover out of vinyl ( cream with black piping around it). I still have to hem it and add a tie to attach it to the spare tire. It will be a much tighter and smoother fit once it's tied on.

I thought this would look good when I'm traveling to and from my craft shows.

Luv that idea Mary Ann. I dont have a sewing machine that embroiders but know someone that does :-) Do you think it could be done on a pre made cover? or does it need to be done on a homemade cover so the vinyl is totally flat?

Thanks Donna and Matt & Carol. Matt, sorry no phone number, I made one, and I won't make another. I don't buy patterns, I make up most of my own sewing patterns. This baby has almost 80,000 stitches in it. The deer is really nice when you look at it close up.

Carol, I have a 15 needle commercial machine to do this stuff. Many home machines only have a 4x4 or a 5x7 stitching area and that's not much. I used a 18 inch hoop for this, and still had to do each section seperate. The text across the top is 16" wide. You can talk to her and see what she can do with the machine she has.

Here's a home-made custom spare tire cover made from a flannel-backed picnic tablecloth. It's very easy to make a pattern, cut and sew. I used elastic cord from the hardware store to cinch up the back. It's meant for making your own bungee cords.
