Thanks for the compliments. It was not a real easy task but it does work real nice. As for the weight I don't know the totals but the awning alone weighed 70#. I'll let you guys figure out the weight from the sizes of the materials. The 2 uprights are 2x2x1/8x about 78" there is about 12 feet of 2x2x1/8 angle iron braces, the upper tube (running the length of the awning is 2x6x1/8x about 14 feet aluminum (wow, a 21 foot piece was $220), probably 5 pounds of stainless steel bolts. It is a 12'x8' awning.

To me, that's like waving a red flag in front of a bull! By my calculation, the whole setup is about 81 kg, or 179 lb, as described in this spreadsheet:

Sorry about that Brian. Those individual weights look about right, as I recall assembling the parts. My F-150 gets 13-14 MPG towing it and we don't carry much water so the 179# doesn't bother me. Thanks for running those numbers.

Holy Cow... Thats a heck of an awning. Looks like it would withstand the "Third World War"... Although it almost seems to overpower the trailer, I bet it is really nice during the hot "Dog Days of Summer"...

Awning is great. No arms to bother with and no holes through the walls.

The trailer frame originally is 17'8" it is now 20' 8". I extended the rear by 2' and the front by 1'. The rear has an aluminum tool box that holds all of the junk for setting up at camp and I don't have to take inside the trailer, i.e. electric cords, under awning mat, leveling blocks, etc. On the front there is a two bike rack and there is room for a tool box but I have not needed one. Tongue weight is around 280# and it tows great.

It never had a bath and I like it that way. Without the bath walls the trailer is very open and spacious. I built a formica covered shelfand the room A/C sit on the shelf and slides out the door in the side, and the porti-potti slides underneath. There is also room for the TV (which is strapped down) and a small compartment.
