Street Side Power Outlet

Has anyone installed a outlet on the door side of their camper? I would like to see some examples and hear any advice on where to install one?
Thanks

Door side electric

The way I got power to the door side was to open the refer vent door and fish a plug end of a power strip through the hole in the left side of the refrigerator compartment and plug into the outlet under the sink that the refrigerator plugs into. Now I open the refer vent door and I have 6 outlets on the plug strip!! ath

Close enough to the tires to use a 12V air compressor.

You could put a weatherproof outlet in the tongue and avoid cutting a hole in the side of your trailer.

Aren't street side and door (curb) side different sides? And are you asking about 12V or 120V? I installed a 120V outlet near the door but just open the refrigerator access door on the street side and access the receptacle in there that also powers the converter in my Scamp. I figured I really did not need a 120V receptacle on the street side as the power pedestal is usually right there anyway. I have not yet installed 12V exterior receptacles but would like to have one on the door side for my fantastic fan.

Scamp puts the 120 v AC outlet behind the wheel on the right side, in the wall of compartment where the fresh water tank is. that puts it under the awning, so we can use it too power a string of lights or any other appliance.

I put a single marine outlet in mine:
https://ontario.westburne.ca/other-c...t/HUBHBL61CM65

You can run a wire from you power under the sink, then under the rear bench, then under the ensolite at the rear then under the doorside bench. From there you can reach the closet. If you want it towards the front you can go under the forward bench.

On my 1980 Bigfoot there was no outside 120V outlet. I found that the frig. compartment has a 120V socket for power to the frig. I installed a socket in the outer cover, ran a short cord inside and plugged it into the existing socket. Now I have 120V power outside on the street side. When I need it on the curb side, I plug in an extension cord and throw it underneath the trailer.

That is where I added one to my 92 Scamp. Removed the rear hatch and temp moved the water tank over and out of the way while cutting the hole in the shell. Taped into the 120V outlet that is at the end of the kitchen counter - put a GFCI outlet in the kitchen at that point (any outlets added down stream are protected by it) and used a weather proof cover on the outside.

I am thinking about installing a 120v outlet on the door side of my Boler 13' to run sting lights... I plan on adding an add-a-room
Which is why this idea interests me. I am however concerned about the what it might look and proper placement.
Yes I could just run an extention cord under the trailer but I wanted the outlet to be switched and on a gfi.

If anyone who has done it has pictures I would love to see.
Thank you all.

mine was already there.....

what I wanted was a 12V plug for boombox, 12V inflator...or WHY

with a CB model I got off easy...there was a roll of 6 wires secured under the sink (for who knows why...from the factory!) one was + live...and a negative wire....

adding the plug was a cinch....except for the anxiety of drilling the hole.... and the contortions required to work in there (kitchen sink cabinet)

Every trailer I have owned it is one of the first things I install as I find it the most usefull plug on the trailer.i use a gfi with a shielded exterior cover.

The 110 outlet and the table rail were factory done on our 84 Boler. Bring the table outside and use an electric fripan or kettle. Great when we connect to the current bush!Click image for larger version

Wow I didn'the know that was a factory option. It fits well in that spot under the bench above the wheel well.

We installed on during our rebuild. It's under the bench seat in the trailer, just behind the wheel well. When the kids slept in the tent, we ran an extension cord out to them for charging phones and running a small fan. Click image for larger version

My Casita came with one already mounted on the curb side just forward of the wheel well. I added a short left-over piece of Keder rail I had on hand from my slide-in awning project, so I attached it over the wheel well right next to the outlet. I made a slide-in table out of a half sheet aluminum baking tray and a few sticks of 1" X 1/8" aluminum flat stock. The little tray table is handy if you want to set up anything electrical on it because the outlet is right there. Of course, it also works for non electrical things too.

I placed a 12V receptical inside the door but outside of the screen.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not seeing it in your picture.

It has a custom black plug in it. If you click on the picture it will enlarge.
