stripped and striped casita

....never fond of the blue casita graphics, and my truck's red. 3M caution tape with red pinstripes top and bottom.....will probably add a two inch wide red stripe below the seam.

I've seen the tape that big truck use on their trailers. I believe it's red to white maybe some blue in there. always thought that would be fun. THis is a variation on that theme.

Source for striping, another source for letters/numbers

Here's a source for striping, in rolls. Quite a few of us have purchased reflective striping for the center band on Casitas from Earl Mich Company. They have all kinds of adhesive backed striping, various widths, dozens of colors, reflective, non-reflective, metallic glitter fluorescent, etc. You could have a lot of fun with this stuff. They have a nice color chart with actual color samples that they will mail to you. Tel. 1-800 642-4872
www.earlmich.com

And if you want lettering in special fonts and colors to match your trailer's design, try DecalZone. They have a great on-line interactive page where you can actually see your sign in the fonts and colors you are considering. Also shows you exactly the size of the layout you have selected. (We used ''vivid blue'' with a ''black outline'', which turned out to be a good match with Casita blue.)

Both of these sources are suprisingly inexpensive, although you will notice there are some minimum purchase requirements. In any case, they are a fraction of what you would pay a local sign shop

Phil, man, you are setting the bar high for total number of improvements / modifications!

George, good links! I also buy pinstriping and assorted other goodies at http://www.sportwing.com/pinstriping/

Hey, Phil ... how did you remove the original pinstriping and Casita decals? Will a hair dryer loosen them?

Was there any ghosting of the old striping?

restripe

Charles-
I used a professional heat gun to remove the decals- but be careful not to blister the trailer- I think a hair dryer will do. Yes, there is significant ghosting under the graphics and my unit is only a 2000 model. Not sure if this can be buffed out, so part of the plan is to cover with the new striping........

interior motif

Due to an excess of material , the 'crime scene' motif was extended to the inside.

The Runabout

These are the folks doing my lettering and striping for my trailer - The Runabout. http://www.speedysigns.com/lettering/

Since I have two big Startrek insignia going on my trailer, one on the door side and one on the rear they quoted me a good price for the logo art work.

Phil ... did you have enough striping to do the inside of the toilet bowl?:) :) :)

Now, that would be a conversation starter!

I love it!

I bought a bunch of two-tone blue, because Pam wanted me to do an "Airstream-ish" stripe around the propane gas bottle cover.

I have a ton of the stuff left over, so Phil, you've given me some food for thought!

>>ghosting

I was a bit worried about that. Ghosting can be a problem on any surface exposed to the air and sun. Phil, I couldn't see any signs of it, so it must not be that visible on your rig!

Webmaster Michael tries to change the feature photo on the "Home" page" (accessible by hitting the home button above) once a week!

Just noticed your rig is featured Phil! Congrats!

Yes, Charles, but the photo is of Phil's ''old'' trailer, not his ''new'' deco one.

And Phil, couldn't you find some ''Crime Scene'' tape with adhesive backing? That would be even more fun when it's time to sell your Casita!:shg :bh ;)
