Table for 2

As we keep our table down as a bed most of the time, we decided to make a small table we could use more often. This is what we came up with. We used the pre-drilled holes for the pop-bunk, built the support and added the table that folds down into the opening. Then we had to make some room for us to get by on the short side by the counter, so we made a drop down. Made a slide support to hold up the drop down with two plastic pipe clamps a bit of wood and two small wedges to tighten up against to lock it in. Not bad. Looks good with our screen door made last year.......

Took some underside pics as requested.....you can now see how the leg is fitted into the support made and yes that was the leg on top of the table as it is folded down.....

Even a pic thru our door made last winter with the table part way up......

Well thought-out and beautifully done - thanx for the photos. With 2 grandsons approaching camping age, we aren't ready to give up the front bunk yet, but this is a great idea for a twosome! L 'n D

That does look really nice! If you wouldn't mind showing /telling a bit more, I'd also like to see how the hinge works, and how it relates to that lighter colored "bar" (or whatever it is) that's just above the back of the table.

On a more serious note, if you look at the second last picture you will see that the hinges are held out from the wall, creating a space that looks like the rod could sit into. If that space was not big enough one could bevel that edge of the table to make the gap a bit wider

thanks roy....but all the kudos go strictly to dennis, as it is simply my name on the account! haha
the feature that i contributed was simply to request that everything carry on the curved edges synonymous with the trillium.
he has added some photos to the original posting showing the underside. he came up with a very simple method of bracing...using a piece of wood that he ripped from a 2x4 and used wedges for it to tighten up against...supported simply by 2 pipe clamps..and using a screw as a stop. it works like a dream!!!!
he also built a matching stove cover....using leftover plywood, and simply supported by 6 screw-in doorstops. it was an idea that a friend of ours came up with last summer for his trillium and is so simple, yet so perfect, that it is brilliant!!
