While I (myself) find the subject sorta 'fitting', I'm SURE ther are many of us in here who'd love a set or two of those 'lantern lights'!!! Its a personal like thing I guess....

Ok, I have to state here and now.............. I HATE string lights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least I did till I bought a set of tacky battery operated string lights actually I bought a set of these tacky string lights. LOL................ I still hate them, It's just we are doing a 5 day boon docking trip that I have to have some type of lighting so Dh can get around. Only cause they were battery operated that I bought them. I will have to wait till after this trip to see if I change my opinion about string lights. Robin

Well as a collector of Coleman merchandise I have to say that I would LOVE a set of these lights!! I'm DEFINITELY going to be looking for them the next time I go to Wal-Mart! They'd make a great addition to my collection, and to my trailer too! hehe

Around home, I would never put up a set of string lights, BUT, with the trailer the whole idea is getting away from it all. Tacky is just part of that and a set of little weird and wonderful little string lights may be just the cats a**.

Robin and I are at opposite ends of the spectrum... I LOVE tacky string lights. There's something about them that just brings a smile to my face... or a belly laugh as the case may be.

Now, if I could just find a string of 100% green pepper lights... and call 'em OKRA!

Donna, you have to remember I come from a resort owner perspective! Some people go way over board with them. I actually had one guy place them all around the grass on his site, lit the whole darn place up! He actually had one of the largest sites in the place. Took him a bazillion strings of lights then wanted me to let him plug into the site next to him. All the while his big energy sucking coach sat there with every imaginable electric item running. That's where I got to hate them........................ HELLO, your in Montana (where it actually doesn't get dark till after 10pm) then you wanta light it up like your in Downtown Las Vegas? So you see I have to warm up to the idea of using them. LOL

Joe if my opinion doesn't change after this trip, I will be glad to send them to you.

I'd pay good money for a string of tacky 'running greyhound' lights - just putting it out there in case anyone happens upon such a thing

Love the lights!
Tacky lights are so much fun at a campground.
Our lights are hamburgers, hot dogs, pickles, and mustard and ketchup bottles outside. Inside our Casita we have flamingo lights.
It is fun to walk around and see the other lights and visit with the campers.
Our whole family and friends and in-laws and their family and friends are going river floating this weekend.
Most of us have tacky lights.

Camping is the best family activity!

Ok, I kinda warmed up to them.......... LOL Their not so bad. The little coleman, because of being battery operated worked Fab! On our 5 day boondocking trip. Thankfully we had them. cause it was dark up there at 9000 feet. Upon arriving to our destination a friend we were camping with gave me a gift of solar tacky lights ( stars )............ Because your suppose to charge up the solar tacky lights for 48 hours the first time, and the fact that we had storms roll in everyday it was a few days before the stars worked properly. But of the 40 people on this camping trip the ones who were camped on our end of the mountain called my tacky lights, beacon's of safety when running for safety during the horrible thunderstorms that we endured each afternoon/evening. So I guess there is a place for them.................. May I also suggest solar yard lights. I bought a box of 6 and put them out in the sun to charge for a couple of day's before leaving on our trip. They worked great!
