Time for an overhaul! - Boler
So starting tonight we'll be the beginning of the overhaul of our boler!
The exterior is in pretty good shape and doesn't need much work. Inside is going to get the bulk of the work.
We've had the boler for years now, repainted it a few years back and that is holding up great.
I'll be sure to post some before pics, and progress pics along the way.

So now that I've got it in the garage I've ripped out the counter are and going to get a smaller fridge and rebuild that entire area. Also going to rip out the useless closet and make it into a bench.
We want to get new foam and reupholstered as well.
Some kind of new flooring in there too.
Hopefully have it all done for next summer.

That useless closet may be the support to keep the roof up! True story....

I'm looking at keeping my closet out too (currently gutted), but I know I will need to reinforce the area where it was. It also seems to keep the door jam strong. I agree that if one is to remove the closet another plan needs to be put into place to reinforce the structure....

Be careful, that closet supports your roof and the door area wall. Most people turn it into a pantry. Without it you will have to figure out some other way to brace the door area so the door will latch properly and support the roof so a snow load will not cave in your roof. I see by the pic you are already missing the metal support on the kitchen side. So by taking the closet out you will have no upper support at all.

What a gorgeous body on that boler! Good luck with the renos.
We aim to have our boler in the garage too, later this year. Did you put your trailer on small rims to lower it, and get it under the garage door?
Thanks

Yeah I plan on making a support piece for both sides of the trailer, no worries about that.
I didn't have to put it on smaller wheels. It JUST fit in the garage with the roof vent down.
Speaking of the roof vent, anyone have any suggestions on what to use for a new one?

Here is just a basic vent. Also do "roof vent" search on their website to see more options.

Tell us exactly what you're looking for as a replacement. There's lots of help here, but WHAT are you looking to do. Something really flat on the roof? Powered? Reversable?
We're here, just tell us....
