My scamp and all of the rf trailers I have seen of this size have the spare on the back.

Neighbor bought a new Honda accord recently. No spare and he declared it isn't necessary because in the unlikely event of a flat, he can pump it up. That should get him to a tire shop.

They did hit something that damaged the tire and it shredded before they could get stopped. No amount of pumps or FIX A FLAT could have done any good. It was Sunday and finding a tire was an all day affair. Meanwhile
his car was on the side of the road unattended for hours. BLAH-BLAH. HE STILL doesn't have a spare.

Point being that modern tires are very likely to self destruct when they go down. Even if driven for short distances. And if "THE GUY" shows up to help, he won't have a tire to change.

SP-TRAILER tires tend blow out for any reason under the sun. Best to have a spare one and treat those tires with respect. Or they will turn on us.

computerspook: I don't have mine on the back because I built a cargo carrier for my Generator and some cargo, now there isn't room for the spare and I intend to balance the weight changes. Currently the spare is in the back of the suburban tied down with ratchet straps to contain it in an emergency.

I think the only thing you could do is to go up from the gas cylinders. The turning on this is already a problem.
