I filled in the extra bit of fiberglass to complete the modification on the original wardrobe. I think I will paint it to make the seams invisible. The bed rails have been temporarily installed. They will be painted and reinstalled soon.

The shelf over the bed is done with a light installed.

Door is finished. I decided to paint the doors a cream colour to lighten up the inside.

My son ( and his grandfather) made this really nice pocket by the front door. Nice for little stuff that you don't want to have to go inside for like sunglasses.

Well I made some great progress today.

The inside of the original wardrobe is now finished. All the wires for lights are hidden behind the new silver bubblewrap at the back of the closet and the shelves have bee primed, painted and reinstalled.

All the electrics are done for all of the lights and power outlets.

The bed size has worked out well. I gained 19" of width. I don't think I will have to remove the lower part of the original wardrobe for extra foot room.

Supper is ready so I must go.

Cheers and thanks for looking.

I will get some more pictures this weekend for sure. Am I correct that you got a fixer-upper last week?

More pics... The small black box up high on the left of the doorway has 2 switches. One for the porch light and the other powers a small red LED that illuminates the portapotty that we leave in the doorway at night. It is not very bright but it beats doing it by feel and it doesn't wake up any body else.

The exterior shot shows we are in need of a respray ( next year along with new cushions) and it also shows our 4 corner jacks that remove for transport. Quite cheap when on sale at princess auto and very sturdy.

By cutting up the original wardrobe door, we can open it easily with the bed made.

One last straggler showing the four 12 V outlets and the thermostat.

Manual for the furnace stated thermostat should be between waist and shoulder height. If it turns out to be too high I will move it.

There is another 12V outlet on the other side of the new wardrobe for use on the couch. It is visible on a previous picture.

Oh my goodness YES we did!
No cushions, no heater, no converter.
Frame is in excellent condition. Inside needs a good cleaning. Barry used some ZEP mold and mildew spray on it today. Starting to look better.
We are looking to peeps like you for inspiration and guidance.
Long live the EGG!

Sounds like you have an eggselent frame, thats important.

Whats not important are the cushions ( get new ones with your fabric and nice new foam), heater ( old, unknown past, have you seen my furnace thread) and converter ( check on ebay the new ones are better than the old ones and smaller)

long live the EGG

Nope, its the original mattresses with an extra bit added on. It will do for this year.

I noticed that your trailer couch has its moulded edges removed. The depth of the moulding gives alot of strength. What are your plans for that area...dinette for two?

Nope. Barry has to fix all that. It is going to stay as a gaucho/bunk beds. For grandkids one day way in the future.

If you're looking for a custom mattress I know a shop in Toronto that might help. He made one for me. Check my build thread for pics.

Thanks but I think shipping to Edmonton would break the bank. There is a lady just out of town who does a lot of cushion/matress work for the sailing community. Lakes a long time ( there is a significant off season ) but i hear her prices and quality are good. I will try her and see if it fits with my budget.

Very inspiring Collin. The only complaint we have with our Trillium is the size of the bed. After a summer of camping we are looking at options but I really don't want to remove the kitchen. I'll keep following the thread though.
