turn your egg into a speaker

I've seen it in person and it's on my Christmas list.
the video doesn't do it justice. can't wait to try it on the floor of the SurfSide next summer. it plugs into you ipod or has a card slot for a micro SD

When I read the forum title, I misread this as "Turn you egg into a sneaker." I thought, "What a cool mod! Gotta read this one."

But seriously, wouldn't that be a cool mod? Or even better, a sneaker speaker.

Needs a hard surface to work.
These basically turn a hard surface into a speaker cone with freaky results.

Invisible Speakers / Hidden Speakers by Solid Drive High Quality Sound

This is the company that came up with this prior to be "Copied" by the posted devices .

I just can not bring myself to get the copy yet but for the price I probably will just to compare them.

Actually this is not the original company either. These devices have been around for decades, long before "Solid Drive" existed.

Still, looks like something fun to experiment with. I wonder how it would sound setting on the linoleum floor of a Casita?

That's what I was thinking... an egg would be an awesome speaker. I have a high end sound system in there now... but it's heavy.

I was wondering if anyone bought one of these or a similar product and is using it in your fiberglass trailer?

BTW Scott, I have a Bose Acoustic Wave which has a great sound. I recommend it to any RVer who likes a nice sound, clean and balanced, good bass but not boomy.

It also has a great price IF you can find one at a pawn shop or on E-bay. If you are lucky, you can buy the one I had stolen from my storage unit. It was almost brand new, with a case and all accessories. But the full price new $1100 is WAY too much for one. It's a good sound system for about $250 or maybe $300. Great sound in a small place and sounds pretty good outside, as long as the neighbors aren't bothered. But I might eventually try out this vibrating thing later.

Scott,
Thanks for letting us know about this. I bought a silver one on Ebay for $41 - they are over $70 at Best Buy - and it is truly incredible! Not quite as good as my Bose, but after a glass of wine or two who cares? Honestly, the sound that comes out of this is remarkable. And the tiny size fits my parameters of "Ultra-Lite" camping.

Thanks again,
Shirley

Shirley, did you get the Dwarf mini or which one? I found that one at Buy dot com but I can't find it at Best Buy.

Thanks,
Don

Don, I got the 5W -

I found Best Buy selling this at this site - http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...ack-mdbtf-bk5/ I just noticed it was on the Best Buy Canadian site. I hope these links posted correctly.

I'd like to also pick up the 26W to keep in my house or use when I have 110v available.
