Water Faucet Location Question

I'm now working on the galley stove top/sink cabinet on my Amerigo & just cut the cutout for the sink. They originally had the water faucet location at the left corner of the sink & I wondered why there?
Was it easier there to make the line connections under the cabinet?
Was it a personal preference?
Is there to reach the burning pancakes on the stove top?

I was just curious before I drilled the new hole......anyone have an idea?

Maybe there were two faucets? Our Trillium has a city water faucet left rear and onboard water faucet pump right rear.

The oem faucet was missing when I bought it however the switch & trim bezel was still there. There were 2 holes both on the left side along with the plastic switch/bezel. I haven't seen an original faucet but I think they were fed by both city water & on board pump.....I think.......

I found a single replacement from a home improvement center that will work with the pump set up anyway.

On the Trillium that I owned, there were two taps.
One worked with water from the aqueduct and the other was accompanied by a small pump from the tap to use the water from the tank ...
It all depends on how you want to use it.
If you have 12-volt water pump, you need only one hole for the cold water tap, make the connections under the cabinel.

It is to each his convenience.
