Hello Everyone!

Tim and I (Sophia) spent four months renovating our 1300 Trillium Trailer that be we bought last April so that we could full-time in it and take it on our journey to Argentina.

We have been meaning to share our mods with you as Fiberglass RV has helped us tremendously in getting Pepita trip ready. We finally left for our pan-american road trip on November 19th, 2015 (a day before my 30th birthday)

Hi Guys, your adventure sounds amazing. I'm wondering if you have had to use your Propex Heater yet. I'm very interested in them but not sure about what model to get.

Hi Clayton!

We have used our Propex Heater many times and absolutely love it. We left for our trip in November so the weather in Vancouver was chilly. The Propex HS2211 has left nothing to be desired in the way of performance, it easily heats our trailer and then some. Leaving the heater on all night obviously ensures that you use a fair bit of propane but considering the heat output, temperature differential and lack of overall insulation in the older Trilliums it performs extraordinarily well.

I would also recommend this model as having the option to mount it outside saves a lot of space. Fabricating and mounting the frame and skid plate took some time but was well worth it for the space we saved inside. I also used both the fiber and insulating tape exhaust wrap to keep the heat in the heat and return forced air vents to optimize performance as much as possible.

As for mounting location, we chose behind the axle tucked up as high as possible while still maintaining clearance to the floor. The wiring and heat runs enter the floor beside the water storage tank and enter/exit the storage compartment under the bench. We mounted the thermostat on the opposite side on the rear facing wall of the closet and it seems to be an adequate location for its effective operation.

I love TGB! Just read your build page, nice work my friend. I know this is a camper forum but i love Toyota 4x4's, older the better. I bought my 04 tacoma TRD 4x4 for $500 with a blown 3.4 v6. I installed a salvage yard motor. I freshened it up with new Tbelt kit, belts, hoses, clutch kit, tune up, gaskets ect...before installation. I got it up and running and set up for towing just 2 weeks before i had to drive it to Rice, Tx. to pick up my new Casita. Put 3300 trouble free miles on it in just 10 days during that trip. Didn't even burn a drop of oil, gotta love toyotas! 3" Toytec lift, tundra front brakes, wheels/tires all came shortly after. I'm not a new vehicle kinda guy, i rather buy'em broke & cheap and fix'em!

@Gale Michel - Thus far we have had no issues with our pooch and crossing borders, as long as you have the right paperwork there is relatively little hassle.
@Larry Tenhage - Thank you so much, it is wonderful to be in a place to enjoy the ffruits of our labours now. There is always a project or two to tackle though, even on the road in Mexico!
@68dave - Thanks Dave! I love TGB too! You have a skookum rig there yourself! I agree completely on not being a new truck kinda guy, they don't build 'em like they used to! Do you have electric brakes on your Casita?
