Removed seam tape, scrubbed walls, caulked seams, and primed ensolite walls. Didn't realize how bad the walls were until I saw the difference with the primer. Next up: a couple of coats of butter yellow

Slept on it on the floor at the house last night, and it was comfy Need to trim it up and have it upholstered now.

I suggest you consider doing a second coat of primer. I wish I did when I 1st painted mine. It is cheaper than the top coat and covers better.

Best thing is to tint the primer.

Roy, why do you wish you did two coats of primer? Has your paint peeled?

My paint is fine Courtney.
Aside from the masking benefit, I felt that a second coat of primer would have filled in a bit more of the pits and grooves of the ensolite. This would have made the thinner top coat easier to apply using less of a much more expensive material.

I reviewed my original thread on this and noted that I would have also used the Kilz Premium over the regular Kilz primer. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...can-25724.html

Got first coat of paint on the ensolite. Chose Behr's Garlic Clove. Love how it complements the "patina" of the interior fiberglass.

I always use Zinsser Primer. IMHO it is the best.
We have the shelves in ours so I took one it into Rona to have it colour matched (yes i looked rather foolish) so the paint matches the fibreglass perfectly. I used Benajmin Aura semi gloss which also has a built in primer.

Just put the 2nd coat of paint on the ensolite, and primed one side of the cabinet doors. Finally getting some things checked off the list!

It looks terrific and your seams look great too! I thought the ensolite looked dinghy even after washing that's why I painted it and I'm so glad I did. You will love it when it's done, so bright and fresh and clean

Its great when a plan comes together. You're making such great progress. Makes me feel like a big slugo. I'm still working on mine and its been almost 10 months.

Ensolite is finished, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. Have finished painting back side of cabinets and have one coat if primer on the cabinet fronts so far.

Hello!

I just started painting my 79 Scamp. I didn't take out the cabinets, just taped it off. I sure hope it looks good afterwards. I was scared to start.
You mentioned the cabinets. Did you get a smooth paint job? My brother is saying if I want a protective hard finish, to use acrylic paint. But heard it yellows. I was going to paint them bright white.

Thanks!
