I like to read in the trailer as well and never found the lights even with LED bright enough. I have a couple of these magnetic lights I use. Just screw a metal washer or plate where you need a light and away you go. I also use these in the shop at our off grid camp and at work. They recharge through USB so I can charge them at home in the truck or in my usb outlet in the trailer.

Reading Light

HI,

Here is my favorite.... Cheap, too! Less than $5...

Draws about 0.8A with 10W bulb.

See old post:

BTW: White LEDs put out too much blue light with interferes with
sleep...

All batteries "self discharge". Even if off a battery will eventually run down,

My reading lamp

1) Light is always pointed where I am looking
2 ) Self contained so no load on trailer battery
3) Inexpensive
4) Has a multitude of uses besides reading
5) Lightweight and portable .

$1 reading lamp

Here is the kicker. This lamp which is a very good quality with a nice weight to it has a 12volt wall wart with it. So if you wanted you could wire it into the 12 volt side of your RV.[/QUOTE]

Thank you, thank you, I’ll be there in the morning. I run everything possible on 12vdc. Remember that with LED polarity maters, if it first fails to light when you rewire it, it may be wired backward.

Our Escape has the optional reading lamps in all 4 corners. I find they are annoyingly too bright for most things and too 'cold' (bluish).

I really like these USB rechargables... you can turn on just one half, or both halves, and it goes from very dim to quite bright, producing nice even warm white light.

yes, kinda pricy, but a quality item. on low one charge lasts for a week or more of nightly use.

We have the same reading lamps in the 4 corners of our trailer and I full agree that the color of the light is not conducive to reading anything .
