2017, July 7-9: Ontario Bolerama

I'm surprised no one has posted it yet. Now in its 17th year.

On the north shore of Lake Erie between Dunnville and Port Colbourne.
Google Map link: https://www.google.ca/maps/@42.873107,-79.425778,17z

Event Link: Bolerama 2017

Size: typically 100 or so trailers on both reserved and group sites (boon docking). You cannot reserve a site through the campgrounds online reservation system. All the sites that can be reserved are blocked off and show as being unavailable. Some people arrive early and/or stay late.
Saturday dinner is a paid for burger/dog BBQ - very reasonable.

From Fred's webpage:
There are two ways to camp at The Ontario Bolerama "On the Ball". Longbeach Conservation Area has a large Group Camping site on the east side next to Lake Erie. There is easy access for vehicles and it is very large. If you choose group camping please bring your own awning, dining table and chairs. Drinking water is available. No reservations need to be placed with the Park if you choose to group camp. A group camping rate will apply at gate .
If you would like a Serviced site with water and electrical for this event no problem. These sites are right next to the group area. Reservations must be made through the Park office at 905-899-3462 for a serviced site starting in April. Please mention Bolerama, and that you have a molded fiberglass trailer and the Staff will go out of their way to get you a site next to other participants.

Hello all, the Shooks and Eggs-car-go will be back for another great time. Looking forward to it. Hope to see all you old friends and meet some new ones. You cannot keep us away even if someone builds a wall we will put Eggs-car-go on a raft at Madison on the Lake and float across.

Glad to hear it. Just remember you still have to let Mr. Customs Man know where you are going to land. And you might need a Boat Operators Card if you put a motor on that raft.

Hello Roy, I see one of the requirements is a proof of competency, that boat sailed a long time ago. I see there are a few guys still alive around here that did some smuggling back in the day. They can show me how to get over and with the syrup.

I can hear the conversation with Mr. Customs man now.
"That's not Maple Syrup, those are my homemade boat bumpers/fenders."
It sure smells and tastes of Maple Syrup
"Honey did you take those bumpers from the left or right side of the shed?"
Left
"Oops, the Mrs made a mistake, the bumpers were on the other side of the shed"

How can a teacher get a proof of competency when they never got out of school?

Cleaning up the Boler. Looking forward to seeing you all next week.
P.S. I'm out of the sweet brown bumpers.
