2017, May 31 - June4 Blackhawk Lake Recreation Area Highland, WI

Bob and I will be hosting the Scrambled Eggs at Blackhawk Lake rally in 2017. The rally will begin Wednesday, 5/31 and end Sunday morning, June 4th. Blackhawk Lake is located in southwest WI, surrounded by over 1000 acres designated for wildlife. The park has a 92 reserveable elcetric sites, a 220 acre lake that offers year round fishing and miles of hiking. Here is the link to the park's website:
Blackhawk Lake - Home

Like the previous Scrambled Eggs rallies we will be using google "sites" to
manage the attendance and provide additional information. Please see:
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...khawklake/home

I have included some notes from a recent visit to the park that are recorded on the site:
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...g-reservations

The host site will be 75, hope to see you at the park.

We have driven the nearby Hwy 151 from Dubuque to Madison a couple of times, and that certainly is some pretty countryside. This looks like a nice place to camp.

I checked the park website and was hoping they wouldn't charge a vehicle admission fee since it isn't a state park, but alas, it appears that they do. $27 for an annual sticker. Or is that entrance fee being waived for this event?

Yes, it is too bad there is a fee. However, even with the fee the total is less than some of the private parks we've camped in. Hope you can join us.

This is a beautiful park. we always visit the Rural Route 1 popcorn store and then go to the ice cream shop across the street. Spurgeon Vineyard is not far away for the avid wine lover I hope to make it to this rally. Are they taking reservations before the first of the year? I thought they started in January, but I may be wrong.

Sound like a winner. We love the ones closer to home.
Have you picked a group of sites, so we know which ones to ask for.

Will you be going to the one near the Quad Cities the first of May?

Reservations can be made early, December 19th. Take a look at the google sites web page listed above and then go to "making a reservation". I have listed some recommendations based upon the park website and upon my visit to the park. I have also listed the site numbers to select from and which ones that are less desirable. The campground map is also available from the google sites webpage. I enlarged it at bit so the loop that we will be in
is more prominent.
Echo,
Thanks for the tip on the winery and ice cream shop; I have added them to the web page under "points of interest"

This sounds like a good weekend for us to visit from the Chicago area with our Bigfoot Silver Cloud. We'll keep it in mind once the reservations open.

When making your reservations early, by mail, please look at the attendees list to see which sites have already been requested.
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...dees-responses
Then look at the campground map
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...campground-map
to make your selection.
Once you have filled out your early application, or made your reservation later by phone, please fill out the attendees sign-up form
https://sites.google.com/site/scramb...attendees-form
so we will know you are coming and what site you have reserved.
Thanks

Just registered over the phone. Kevin and Cindy Anderson will be in site 86 with our 1988 Bigfoot Silver Cloud (28'). I also put our information in your Google form.

Look forward to seeing this new campground for us! We'll be arriving on Thursday, June 1 and staying until Sunday.

I'm seeing conflicting reports and looking for clarification.

I've seen eggs in in Egg Harbor is in June but no dates.

I've seen that this is the replacement for Eggs in Eggs Harbor for this year.

Which is correct?

Egg Harbor was our first ever rally.

Thank you all the work putting these on.

I am not sure where the conflict is coming from. There is no rally at Egg Harbor that I am aware of in 2017. There was one in 2014 and one in 2016. This is not a replacement for Egg Harbor. I am also unaware of any plan to have a rally in Egg Harbor in 2018. Hope this clears up any confusion. Hope to see you at Blackhawk Rec. Lake Area is spring.
