2017, Sep 7-9: Lake Bemidji State Park

The Scrambled Eggs fall gathering will return to Lake Bemidji, September 7,8,9. 2017.

Campsite reservations - State parks: Minnesota DNR

The gathering area will be around site 60.

We will have the dining hall for three nights this year. Be sure to bring your music with you.

This is another unorganized event, we will know who shows up when we get there.

There will be a campfire candle making event as well as a morning of Bernie's waffles. Look for morning coffee at the mother ship.

As of today there are still 18 electric sites available.

See you in September.

There are still electric sites available.

Please bring old candles if you have any. We will be making campfire candles. We have close to 30 pounds of candles but could probably use more.

Terry and I are planning to attend. Any idea how many will be there?

We're from Lanesboro, so we're hoping to see some mosquitoes. I have type O blood, so I keep them away from Terry.

Enjoy,

Perry

Hi Perry and Terry,

We look forward to seeing you.

There is not a keeper of who comes. We will all be surprised at the same time.

I have a feeling this will be a small gathering of 20-30 trailers. I base this on the fact that there are still a few electric sites that have not been reserved, Several people have told me they can not make it this fall. Our regular music crew will be attending. We will still have a lot of eating events so do not plan on eating alone much!

I will be posting a schedule after the 25th of our unorganized event. Be sure to check back for details.

Perry,

I noticed that you have a larger trailer. If you did not talk to the park when you reserved let me know your campsite number so I can take a look and make sure you will fit ok.

It's not that large a trailer, only 8 feet longer than our Casita, and much smaller than most of the sticky's that roll in. We're fine.

We'll be in #70.

Thanks,

Perry

There are now 4 electric sites left. Plenty of non electric for people who want to wing it.

Perry, site # 70 will do very well for you.

Hi Tony and Darlene,

We have candles and cookie tins thanks to LuAnn and Diane P. Fred and David are cutting the cardboard. Should be a fun project.

Looking forward to seeing you guys.

There may be quite a few SOB at the park. There are around 22 coming on Thursday and I would guess those are our people.

There are still several non electric sites left.
All the electric sites are gone for most of the days we will be there.
If one did not mind moving site number 50 is open Thursday and Friday nights. Site number 73 is open Friday and Saturday night. There are many electric sites open just Thursday night.

Schedule of activities coming soon.

Schedule

Thursday

Starting at 5:00 pm. This is not a pot luck. Bring your chairs and beverage to site 60 (Mother Ship) if good weather, Dining Hall if poor weather.

Shirley is bringing PEROGIES from Canada. You can smother them with bacon pieces, caramelized onions, and sour cream.

Friday

6:00 am. Lyndon will have his cowboy coffee going.

9:00 am. If interested join us for a walk on the scenic handicap accessible path.

10:45 am. Many of us will leave to arrive at Slim's at 11:00 for an excellent hamburger and/or clam chowder. Join us if you please. Slim's Bar and Grill is at 142 Anne Street NE. It is accessible to get in and out of, but the bathrooms are not ADA compliant. They also have an outdoor eating patio if you need to bring a pet.

Saturday

6:00 am. Lyndon's cowboy coffee

9:30 am in the Dining Hall. This breakfast is not a pot luck. Bring your eating utensils and beverage to the Dining Hall for BERNIE'S WAFFLES, Hartman's sausage and eggs. Parr's usually do Diane's bread toasted over an open fire. If you have a favorite waffle or toast topping bring it.

Following breakfast at the Dining Hall area will be Campfire Candle making. Come on folks; we have many pounds of candles to melt, bunches of precut cardboard strips and lots of metal cookie tins to fill. All thanks to Dave and Diane 1.0, LuAnn, and Fred.

5:00 pm. Pot Luck in the Dining Hall. Bring something to share, your eating utensils and beverage. If you prefer just bring your own meal and join the group.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Unless there is a change in time there will be music in the evenings at the Dining Hall. The musicians are able to keep their instruments in the Dining Hall locked up during the day. Bring your voices and instruments to entertain the rest of us. Thank you for bringing your talent.

Hope you all come for Perogies on Thursday night. Shirley is bringing 360 of them.

Lyndon is bringing two kind of his homemade sauerkraut. This should make an interesting option along with the onions, bacon and sour cream.

If you don't arrive until Friday ask me for leftovers. I think we may have some for you to heat up!

FYI 98 5th wheel delux

In case anyone is interested there is a nice 1998 5th wheel 10 miles outside Bemidji listed for $7200. I don't think it is advertised anywhere.

I am not the seller but I did look at the unit and you can send me a private message if you want info.
