Nancy ...there is no signage on M-26 in Lake Linden locating the campground. When arriving in Lake Linden turn E on 3rd St. Lindells restaurant is on the corner. Go 1 blk and you will see the pump/water station leading into the campground. I hope this is helpful. I'm new at posting so you may have to repost this info along. See you Tuesday!

Hi Mike, are you coming to the get together in Lake Linden? Vada has the Thimbleberry jam and I have the Pepper Jam. There's another shop much closer to the park in Lake Linden, it's UP Foods, They make all their UP Foods on site including the Finnish cheese, and have many other local products in their store. U.P. Foods - Homemade Jams, Jellies, Syrups and other products from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. They also ship all over the country. small shop but excellent products.

Local Calendar plus question

Here's one of the calendar of the events in the area. There are some National Park events listed, but most are things to do. When you view the list, if you see something you are interested in just select it and it will open and give all the times and details. Calendar - ABC 10/CW 5. I attached a link to the UP Foods for purchases of local foods, Thimbleberry Jam, Finnish cheese and all jams made right on site, plus many more local items. They ship all over the country, too. U.P. Foods - Homemade Jams, Jellies, Syrups and other products from Michigan's Upper Peninsula. They are about 7 miles from the campground.

Question for those experienced campers. Am I going to have a problem when I get to the campground. Last time I used my Scamp, I decided to drain the water from the hot water heater before getting on the road for about a 350 mile ride home and loosened the drain plug. Forgot to disconnect the water hose first. It made quite a loud bang.

Flooding in Houghton County
Yes, area is and has open except for a few days of road closures and detours. People here were even hand digging out a few roads until FEMA and Narional Guard showed up. Every place is open for business. Drove through the campground today, lots of campers there, talked to the host and she said there were 5 open spots for our camp rally. Thank you for asking

Elaine,

We don’t have a water heater so can’t answer your question.

Thanks for letting us know the campground has vacancies.

You don't know how much I would like to come up, but I have taken 2 trips already this summer and the bank account is running dry. I am gearing up for the start of the new work season, when schools reopen around Aug. 16.

A shout out "THANK YOU" for planning this camp out in the Lake Linden Campground. Also for the good breakfast you and your husband prepared for us, the card game and your handmade nametags and prizes. Also thank you to others for the muffins, cupcakes for the get togethers. And thanks to Jim for the Pasty dinner. Was a pleasure to meet you all, I enjoyed the fellowship with the group that drove all this distance north, and am encouraged to attend more camping events, as this is my second one. Elaine

Hi, I was wondering if their will be another UP gathering this 2019 year, EH? The rally map isn’t up-dated yet if so.
Looking foreward to it.

Well, here's the deal. Someone (anyone) can decide to go to this or a nearby CG for a couple of days, make reservations, and post a new thread saying you'll be there if anyone else wants to come. Before you know it, you'll have started a rally.

That’s what we did (actually Thom made arrangements) a couple of years ago in colorado when no gathering was planned that year. So Mike will you be able to make it this year? We plan to be in Michigan August, and plan to go to Lake Linden, as we have never been there. We have no specific plans as of yet, but would try to fit into everyone’s plans if someone wants to take the bull by the horns. I will post our progress through the UP when we get there, in case there is anyone that like spur of the moment gatherings.

Dave, I'm hoping to camp in da U.P. this summer! Dates are up in the air yet, though. Wasn't planning to hit Colorado this year... not that I've really planned a whole lot, but I just have more of a hankering for the Great Lakes than the mountains this year.

So you’ll be there (Lake Linden Village Campground 1050 Hiltunen St. 906 296 9911) Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th only? We may stay a little longer to do some motorcycling in the area.
