KY | 2018, June 7-10: Eggs A La Bourbon Rally

Please join us 2018, June 7, 8, 9, & 10 at My Old Kentucky Home Campground (http://parks.ky.gov/parks/recreationparks/old-ky-home/) in Bardstown Kentucky for the Third annual Bourbon Rally. Troy & Anita will be hosting. Lots to see and do in Bardstown Kentucky such as old time malt shop, Abbey of Gethsemani, Winerys, distilleries and a little spirit we call Bourbon. Our eclectic shops, locally-owned restaurants and cultural and historical heritage blend beautifully. Come sample the spirits, sounds and flavors that are quintessentially Bardstown Kentucky.

We, Troy and Anita, want to welcome everyone to the third annual Bourbon Rally in Bardstown, Kentucky. We will be your hosts and will be located at site #3. We are trying not to schedule a lot of events in order to allow everyone the opportunity to explore the intersting sights local to Bardstown. We have put together a welcome to Bardstown bag, please make sure each site has received one.

ACTIVITIES:

Following is a schedule of the events we have planned, all activities are optional. We will also have a white board at our site where you can post activities you want to invite other to enjoy with you.

Wed, June 6th:
7pm early bird campfire at site #3 (for those who arrive early )

Thur, June 7th:
6pm meet and greet at site #3. Please bring a snack and your own beverage

Fri, June 8th:
7:30 to 9am Coffee, Cakes, and Campers in the morning on site #3
5pm Potluck at the pavilion straight across the street from the entrance to the campground
7pm Campfire at site #3

Sat, June 9th:
7:30 to 9am Coffee, Cakes, and Campers in the morning on site #3
11am Malt shop flash back at Hurst Discount Drugs at 103 N. 3rd St. (north side of the square)

You can sign up to go to the distilleries and taste test and purchase whiskey from them.

Be sure to register early. The campground has some interesting sites. To level your camper in some, it takes lots of wood.

Bob, very nearby counties with some of the distilleries used to be dry counties ( meaning no alcohol sales in that county) but they have gone wet now and they do sell booze at the restaurants and liquor stores.

I hope we can make it back again this year. We are moving this summer at some point though, and it may impact our attendance again. We did pick a spot and are registered. We love Bardstown. The rally began there because of my interest in genealogy. My 5th great-grandfather moved there during the Whiskey Rebellion, to escape the tax, I assume. He made whiskey in SW PA and set it up again in Bardstown. He was bought out by Jim Beam. When Kevin worked as a supt, we got a kick out of teasing a board member who worked for Jim Beam that he worked for my family's company. I assume that the Talbott Inn was begun by a relative too, as I have a Talbot ancestor whose family intermarries with the whiskey-making family. I am DAR and while the Jim Beam family were involved, the DAR will not recognize them. The Talbot family is recognized though.



Hopefully, we can make it.

Sat, June 9th:
For those of you interested in going to The Stephen Foster Story, we are planning on Saturday the 9 at 8 PM, weather permitting. Because it is an outdoor show and weather could put a 'damper' on things, we plan to buy our tickets at the time of the show.
