We attened two years ago and loved it. Assuming it's the same place. But can you give info on name and location of the park?

Okay, found that info out elsewhere. Unfortunately there aren't any spots available. So, guess I won't hit KS at that particular time. bummer

Edit: Now I see it says "not yet released". When do the KS state parks start booking?

Took a bit to find the information but I finally found it on a rally map on Googlemaps. I guess the organizers aren't reading these posts.

Anyway, it's at Farnum Creek Campground in Milford KS. You can't book until 6 months beforehand. Which I find really weird as it's a state park, but it's booked through Recreation.org (I think) and they say 6 months. But when I booked at Tuttle Creek for right after the rally as it's much closer to a friend in Manhattan (KS), I was able to book as ReserveAmerica will let you do it 9 months in advance. And, yet, both are Kansas State Parks. So, two state parks, but through two different reservation systems with two different advance reservation date deadlines.

Weird and weirder, if you ask me.

And I have to pay a park fee above the camping fee, which I'm not used to doing.

Unless something has changed Farnum Creek is not a state park. It is an Army Corps park. I am not familiar with the area but my source does not show it as a state park. Also I would research if there are non reservable, first come, first serve walk in sites. If all reserved sites are taken that might be an option.

Minnesota State Parks did away with those sites and now all sites are reservable. Things tend to change over time. Maybe COE became a state park?

Ah, thanks for that information. I've never stayed at an Army Corp park so that's not high on my radar/knowledge of types of parks. Just stayed at State parks and private campgrounds. So, okay, that makes more sense as to why they have different ahead of time booking schedules. I had been pondering that and trying to figure it out. But not enough to keep me awake at night. HA!

Okay, figured out why I thought it was a state park. Last year I stayed at Milford State Park, in the Eagle Ridge section. So, when I saw Farnum Creek was listed at Milford Lake, my brain put the two together and didn't come up with the correct answer.

I tell ya, don't plan to stay at that place (Milford State Park) the same weekend as their fishing derby. Even though check out/check in time was 2PM, nobody in the fishing derby gave a rat's pattootie about that and I had to wait about 3 hours (in the sun) until the site I had booked was empty. They hadn't done anything to get ready to leave either.

Yeah, not a fishing person, especially after that situation.

Anywho, got site A21 booked at Farnum Creek. Thanks for the reminder post.

Kansas Eggstravaganza May 17 Update

As of a few minutes ago site A-44 was available. That is a very good site.

Currently the lake is around 20 feet above conservation level and all lakeside sites are under water. With almost 4 months until the rally that should probably not be an issue. However, Joyce and I will continue to monitor the situation and if necessary we will come up with a plan “B”. The rally will NOT be canceled.

I have tried to pick up everyone who has posted on one of the forums that they have a site. I have 2 people telling me they are in the same site. I have either 14 or 15 names.

Only people on my (email) mailing list will receive a roster since I do not post it on public forums.

I had to cancel my trip back east, so you can remove my name/site number from your list. Thanks!

June 8, 2019 Kansas Eggstravaganza Update

We just visited Farnum Creek Campground and the news is not good. All the lower campsites in A-Loop are under water and B-Loop is completely under water. There 19 unable sites in A-Loop. In the last few days the lake level has dropped about 1 foot, however, the damage has already been done. It is unlikely that repairs will be completed in time for the rally. They may not even be done for next season.

We are now actively looking for a Plan B.

Assuming most of the usable sites are reserved by rally people, we could just double up. That would be close quarters for the smaller sites and only one camper could be plugged in at a time.

Since all other Milford Lake Corps campgrounds are closed and The State Park and Flag Stop are heavily impacted, local options are limited. Acorn Acres is not impacted, but they do not have enough open sites available and they will not give us any price break.

I need responses to the following from everyone who is planning to attend.
Are you willing to double up?
Are you willing to go to a commercial campground?
What price are you willing to pay at a commercial campground?
Will you boondock?
How far from Farnum Creek Campground are you willing to be?
If we can find an open Corps campground within 50 miles will you still attend?

Please email me at tommcrae85@yahoo.com.

Please Do Not Post your responses on a forum or Facebook.

We will double. Move. Pay more. Boondock. Money is no issue. Do whatever it takes to do the rally. Currently a25. Let us know.

We are moving Eggstravaganza

Please read this entire post

OK, it is official. We are moving Eggstravaganza to Four Seasons RV Acres. The campground is attached to the RV Sales & Service.

It is located at exit 281 off I-70. (I mean right at the exit)

If you come early and/or stay late you can get the group rate.

You must tell them that you are with Eggstravaganza to get the group rate.

There is a convenience store/gas station.

Weather permitting, the swimming pool will be open.

There is a meeting room for our activities.

There is a laundry.

The facilities are old, but they were clean when I checked today.

For reservations call: 785-598-2221 or 1-800-658-4667
Address:2502 Mink RD; Abilene, KS 67410
Web site: www.4seasonsrv.com

As for your reservations at Farnum Creek:

If you are in a site that is currently usable (1-14 or 35-38) you need to cancel and there will be a cancellation fee.

The Corps will most likely be cancelling all the other (flooded) sites. If you wait for them to cancel you will get a full refund (no cancellation fee). If you do not wait and cancel now there will be a fee.
