Yup! Love it so far!
Eggy-sue got a new Zero axle with 10" brakes, three new mags and new Carlisles.

She's a little taller now and matches up to the new Ranger better.
A few more minor mods and we should be ready to roll.

Now which bike(s) to bring, love riding in Florida!
Can't wait to see you and all the other great folks which we see so seldom.

Thanks Kevin
You can register by sending an email to richfreed@aol.com. Nos sites are set aside, it's pretty much whatever campsite you can get for the rally.
As the dates get closer, many people find they can't make it due to other commitments or health reasons and have to cancel their reservations. We have made last minute reservations a couple times and were able to keep checking the reservation site and grabbing a cancellation.

Good luck!

I know what you mean! My Dakota center of hitch was only about 14" above ground and I had to use a several inch rise drawbar. My Durango is 17.5", and my new Ranger is 22"! Now I have to connect the Scamp and Ranger to confirm how much drop the new drawbar needs. Might be able to flip the Durango draw-bar over. Have to hook up the brake controller too, but at least they have all 4 wires right there where I need them.
Yep, picked up a Ranger on Saturday, couldn't resist the rebates. Now I need to set it up for towing and get my 1,000 miles break-in completed before we tow with it. Will need to tow to TX with the Dakota or Durango so the Ranger won't be getting any miles while we're gone, but maybe it will be ready for Scamp Camp.

As every year, I'm asking if anyone heading for Sebring needs anything from the Hoardware store, Let me know and I'll check inventory.

Don't be afraid to ask... we might both be surprised!
PM me and then call for details.

John/Dave...
I have an 8" drop for Eggy-Sue with the new axle.
10" wasn't quite enough with the old axle.
I'm guessing you'll do well to try a 6" drop to start with for your Scamp16.
Note the Ranger doesn't drop noticeably with 300 pounds of tongue weight.
I run 240 on the Scamp and with it attached I stood on the hitch and still didn't see any significant drop.

I used my 2" drop drawbar to use as a starting point to see how level the Scamp was, and the front of the belly band was about 1" higher than the back of the belly band. Ideally, it appears a 3" drop would make it level, but I ordered a 4" drop since that will allow a slight nose down attitude and also ensure the tailgate clears the front mounted crank handle in the down position.
My Scamp sits about an inch higher than most 16's since I have the 14" tires instead of the 13" tires.
Still trying to add miles to get up to the 1,000 mile recommendation before towing with the Ranger, but I have my brake controller installed and ready to go!

Floyd,
Hi we are driving thru Sebring Fri 14th. We have tried a few times to get a night or two at Highland Hammock and have had no success. We would love to stop by and show our Scamp (XL) 30ft. We went to the Egg Rally at Suwanne river campground in January and had a great time. Dave is going to call the park and see if there is a spot we can just park close to your area for a few hours so we can display the camper. We did stop by about 4 years ago and looked around. If you can reply that would be great. Thank you Laurie

Floyd thanks for the pictures. Mine must be already lifted it sets up like yours. Our 13 has had something done you might like the p/o had the tounge extended 15ins it makes backing and tugging so much easier.

our 13 is a 98 it looks about like yours but he took the decals off. The camper is starting to get some glazing on the finish at the front but once I zepp it it will be ok for a couple of months.

thanks for your pics wish we could go but just got back from quartzite I don't think the budget will handle more expense! LOL bob

Dont bite. It's a hoax. When Scamp comes out with a different camper from their 13, 16, 19, it will be under new ownership I can PROMISE you. They cant even update their ugly decals!

maybe the Floyd knows about this 30f model. you never know what manufactures are up to. I grew up in Hannibal we had 2 great boat companies both built what they called experimental hulls and they would give them to avid boaters to run.

you just never know it might be true! LOL

Well guys we will see you friday. Called the park office to make sure we could come in and park by every one. Facebook XL scamp or absolute Collision look at pixs. Not a hoax promise. But not a factory built scamp. Highly customized. See you!
