2020, June 5-7:Taidnapam
It's never too early to sign up for Taidnapam 2020 the first weekend in June. This year it's the 5th-7th so come and join us!! Be thinking of fun small gifts for the gift exchange between now and then with a camping theme if possible. I'll try to keep a running list of who's who in which site if you let us know.

Not really a "Rally" as such, just a VERY friendly gathering. Welcome aboard!!

I'd give them a call. Here's a contact number off their website: 833-290-8180
They were very helpful when I was having problems using their reservation system last year.

Which area?
I am ready to reserve... notice those already registered are in 2 different sections of the campground... any reason or which area is best?

The sites in the higher numbers (2xx) are in the section where the gathering around the campfire was last year. I could not tell you about previous years as last year was my first time there. I was close to where I am this year and I still had a bit of a hike to haul my chair and food down. If you're farther away, you could always drive your stuff over if you didn't want to haul it down. (I don't know which site it'll be at this year.) Not sure about parking nearby, so you might need to go back to your site and then walk back.
If you go, bring a flashlight with you if you stay out after dark. And be prepared to see HUGE BIG toads in the middle of the road. About scared myself silly when I saw one and everyone at the campfire got to hear my shrieking. (It didn't help that there were stories of cougars and bears running through campgrounds just before I went back to my trailer, so I was a bit jumpy already.) I saw two more on the way back, but didn't shriek over those.
Big toads not withstanding, I did enjoy myself during the rest of my stay there.

The lower number sites are in the older part of the park. That area is more heavily wooded and there is pretty good ground cover between sites which adds a little to privacy. The "200" numbered sites are in the new section and is more airy and open, but still many large trees. It's the newer portion of the park. As to the "Group Area", it is down by Site #280, which has a large fire ring and tables for more people. This is our usual gathering place for group events like the potluck, weenie roast, etc. If you get a site in the old part you'll have about almost a half mile walk one-way to reach the group area. Most of us camp in the new section, but there are a few who attend that like the older section better. Personal choice.

Just an FYI, if it's overcast or (worse) raining... the old section can be pretty dang dark even in daylight hours.

I’m in 280 so the group probably gathers in 278. It’s a bigger site. My first year here so I’m just going by what I hear.
