Scrambled Eggs will gather again at Mille Lacs Kathio State Park, Petaga Campground, on May 3,4,5, 2020. This is Sunday through Tuesday this year. We were concerned about the water not being turned on earlier and the fishing opener later.

All electric sites have been reserved. However, I noticed that site 37 is only reserved for the 3rd. There are many non electric sites available.

The Mother ship will be the meeting area, Site 40.

Hi Rich and Maggie,

We look forward to having you join us. If you haven’t been to Mille Lacs in early May it is usually on the chilly side. The park does have a warming house we sometimes need to drive to for music or pot luck.

I am planning on bringing puzzles, cards, etc in the future so if we find ourselves in disgusting weather we can have an option by using the nice facilities at the parks (even if we have to drive to the building).

We have done both spring and fall for years. So far we have been lucky with the weather.

Obviously I wasn’t paying attention! I saw you will get together next fall in New Ulm. Totally missed Mille Lacs next spring (even though that’s what I responded to). We get our Scamp out of storage April 28, so early May is quite doable. You all could show us how our furnace works.

Greetings FG RVers. The hallmark of the group planning to gather at Kathio this May is that we have no leader. The closest thing to "leadership" in the group would have to be characterized as "The Usual Suspects". With recent events being the hot topic everywhere, The Usual Suspects have been scratching their heads like Larry, Curley, and Moe realizing that there is no leader and no one wants the title. The head scratching consensus is that we should do nothing right now. We are all adults in the same high risk group. Each of us should evaluate the situation as the date of the gathering gets closer and make their own decision. If there are campers at Kathio State Park May 3-4-5, there will be a gathering and folks will have fun. If not, we hope we are all at home safe and healthy.

We are planning on being there as of today and would likely not cancel our reservation until we are closer to the date of the event. NOTE: In order to avoid a Site charge cancellations must be 4 days or more before the reservation date. Even so, there is a cancellation fee at present. What happens to the such fees if all MN state parks are closed is unknown.

We will post here if we personally decide to cancel as the date gets close. It would be great if all of us who decide to cancel would do the same.

Until then, hunker down and be safe and healthy.

Governor Waltz has closed all the State Parks through May 4th.
We received an email stating that our reservations were cancelled and a refund would be issued for the total reservation.
So....Yes Kathio 2020 has been cancelled.

Governor has a State wide Shelter In Place order till May 4, However there have been no cases in or around the counties surrounding Kathio.

Cabin owners from the hot spots have been flocking to their properties,Ignoring the order and no doubt spreading the China Virus.

I would expect the disease to be at, or nearing its peak in the area that weekend

As Diane said we will be canceled if our reservation began on or before May 3.

Several of us called 1-866-857-2757. Recorded message. Our places still show reserved on the reservation page. It will probably take time for the system to remove us and refund our money.

I think site 37 was only reserved for May 4 and 5. If this was one of ours and they had not reserved for the 3rd, they were not automatically canceled.

We do not keep track of who was coming. If anyone knows who has site 37 let them know they need to cancel, or be all alone.

For least financial hit site 37 needs to cancel 4 or more days before May 4.
