2014, May 16-18: Maryhill (SP) in May

That time again --
In case anyone wants to join us, we just made reservations at Maryhill State Park for the weekend before Memorial Day 2014 - May 16-18.

This will be the fifth year we've visited this area on this weekend - we've had small 'Not Organized' gatherings and a lot of fun in the area.
There are pictures from previous years in the links below our signature line.

Norma, the Girls and I will be in site 50 from Thursday 5/15 to Sunday 5/18 (we may get there earlier, but the 15th is the first day they'll reserve).

Please join us if you can!

I'm IN, site 43. Coming in on Thursday, departing on Sunday.

This is the second camp trip planned and reservations made for 2014. We haven't even finished summer 2013 yet! Love to plan ahead

Where is everyone? Yesterday, about 24 hours ago, there were exactly two sites reserved in the park for these dates. Now there's 11

Let us know if you're coming!!

I suspect site one is Jennifer (Paul and Norma's Friend). She has had that site the last couple of years.

Wow! These sites are going fast. Before we could book a spot, it was gone, maybe 20 seconds had gone by. So, we are in site 33, for Friday to Sunday. Laura, Rick and Max.

I am considering coming up from st. George, utah. Never been up there before. Do all the sites have elec., water and sewer? Site 35 looks open. Is it better on the outside of the loop? Thoughts?
Tks,
Alice

Alice, I was going to reserve site 35 but by the time I logged into the reservation system, someone beat me to it, so site 33 was next on the list. I beleive all site are full service. Good luck!

Laura, that was me. I decided to snag 35. If, for some reason I cannot make it, I am sure someone will take it. I'll be staying Thur - Sun nites.

Are the mosquitoes bad in that neck of the woods?

I just looked at PaulW's pictures from 2010....now I know why there are not any mosquitos......it's too dang cold!!! haha. Everyone is wearing jackets, hats, and have lap blankets. Even a dog had a coat on. It's usually in the 90's down here in May. Do I need to bring winter duds with me?
I am still looking forward to going regardless of the temperatures...

Hi Alice,
Yup, 2010 was the first May we went to Maryhill & a cold one. The wind was whipping in off the Columbia river so hard it took two Chucks to hold down the wind break during dinner....
The good news is the weather has improved each year -
2011 we moved dinner away from the river and only had to string the wind break between two strong trees.
2012 and 2013 were absolutely balmy with just enough wind to keep the bugs pinned against the hillside.
We'll hope for the best next year (but bring a coat).
