Rocky Mountain Egg Rendezvous 2017

Is there going to be a gathering this year in Colorado? I don't see anything on the calendar or the rally map.

I am interested in buying a Snoozy and would like to attend in hopes of seeing one. I live in Westcliffe, CO, about 3 hours away from Leadville.

Possible Rocky Mtn Egg Rally

We, too, would be interested in a Colorado rally this Summer. There has been one for the last 2 years, and we've come to each

I would be interested if it is on the Western Slope.

Really? Wouldn't you prefer a level site over a western sloping one?

There are 17 Forest Campgrounds in the Leadville area, and 2 Private campgrounds in Leadville. I didn't see Camp Hale Memorial campground listed on the Allstays web-site, but they do have 21 campsites there.
Any suggestions/preferences ?

John (SKYDANCE), we would be willing to show you our Lil Snoozy trailer when in the Leadville area, even if an official gathering doesn't pan out.

Our Scamp is on order and I doubt it will be ready but it would be great to get to meet people and see some different campers.

Once a date / location is decided on I will see if the wife wants to go.

The date is set as far as when we will be in the Leadville area. I have not heard from anyone as far as a preferred place to camp. 17 forest campgrounds and 2 private in town camps, or Camp Hale Memorial.

Dave (The Fixer), Congratulations on your new Scamp. Do you have something to camp in now until your Scamp is ready, like a tent or other RV?

We have an off-road trailer that we use when getting off the beaten path but we will likely sell it this spring and rent a teardrop or other small camper.

We are really excited about the Scamp.

13' with bathroom, extended bed, fridge, awning, heater and some other little things. It will be a big upgrade in amenities and allow us to stay out longer.

Unfortunately it's born on date is estimated for the second week in October but hopefully they will get it done a little sooner.

The Colorado Scamp owners that organized the Colorado Egg Rendezvous could not locate and come an agreement where to hold it so we decided to take a year off again. We are thinking about doing one again next year. Does anyone have any suggestions for a Colorado Group Camp site for next year. We did several at the Camp Hale Group Site but they raised the rate for for that site from $75/ night to over $200/night. We also used the Chris Park Group site near Durango for the last couple of years. It is a wonderful group site and we will probably have one there again sometime in the future. We are open to suggestions.

There are two new campgrounds just being built in my area. One is in Fruita and the other is in Palisade. I will update info here when I have more details. Both are to open this year.

Thom Rowland, thanks for the explanation, and the plans for reviving it again next year. We do love the San Juan mountains, so Chris Park would be my vote. I'm just trying to see if anyone would like to join us this year while we are in the Leadville area, and hope to get any ideas as to a camp preference some may have. There was an initial response from some interested folks, but have not had any further input from them.
