2020, Sept 18-20: Island Bolers and Friends Meet-up

Island Bolers and Friends is a family friendly community of fiberglass trailer owners that has been meeting for over 20 years here on Vancouver Island. We like to gather twice a year for fun, food and a Show and Shine! We have fun no matter the weather.

Our Meet-ups have a social on the Friday evening, a show-and-shine on Saturday morning, and a Potluck and costume judging on the Saturday evening. Costumes and trailer decorating are optional. Saturday afternoons are relaxed and casual and may offer an optional event.

Our September Meet-up, the 18th to the 20th, will be held at Sooke River Campground, in Sooke, BC. https://www.sookecommunity.com/camping/ Contact the campground to book a site and let them know you are with the group. We have reserved the group site, but when it fills up, they will locate you close by, as long as there is space.

The Theme for September is Roaring 50's.

The rally in Sooke in September, does a Arctic fox qualify. It mentions smaller trailers. Sooke is very pretty.

We are an open and friendly group that does not judge what you camp in. If you would like to join us, you are welcome.

Hello All,
We hope this message finds you all in good health and good spirits. We are sorry for the delay in information surrounding the Fall event planned for the weekend of September 18th-20th however there have been some hiccups along the way related to Covid 19. Unfortunately at this time Sooke River Campground is not accepting units without holding tanks (which means most of us), and are unsure if this will change prior to September. Today the Co-Chairs decided that we needed to look at relocating to a venue that is ready and able to accept us. We tried Living Forest along with a few others in and around the Nanaimo area however all were booked. We expanded our search and are happy to report that we have found a new venue to host us. Seal Bay RV Park in the Comox Valley is currently holding a group booking under the Island Bolers and Friends name for the weekend of September 18-20. We encourage you to phone the RV park directly 250-339-1837 to make a reservation. Please quote the group booking so that they can book you in and around the group sites. We encourage you to book early so that you don't miss out. Here is a bit more information about the Fall event.

Island Boler and Friends Fall trailer Rally
Dates: Friday September 18-Sunday September 20th, 2020
Location: Seal Bay RV Park - 1901 Larch Rd, Courtenay BC
Venue: https://www.sealbayrvpark.com/
Theme: Rocking and Roaring 50s

On the Friday evening we will go ahead with a socially distanced meet and greet in and around the picnic pavilion / group fire pits depending on weather.
Saturday - we will not be hosting an open house tour. Due to Covid we cannot have people visiting all of the trailers. We will also not be having a pot luck dinner on the Saturday this year, but do encourage you to bring your picnic style dinner or plate of food over to the group area to socialize. We will go ahead with the costume contest so we encourage you to pack your best 50's outfit.

Please note there will be no raffle this year as we cannot be handling the tickets and money.

We know there are changes to our normal routine but we are hopeful that you will understand the need for the changes we are making. We still expect it to be a great time to meet new members and reconnect with old friends and are hopeful that you will embrace the changes.
Sincerely your Co-Chairs
