Was wandering around a local antique/junk shop today and found one dated 1979 that sits on your stove burner. Still in original packageing and unused. $12.00 CDN. Couldn't turn it down. Our back country baking was done with two pots, one inside the other. This is like going high tek. Now am looking for recipies other than breads and muffins, and potatoes Any and all would be greatfully[and tastfully] accepted.

Jim, ya done good!. I bought mine second hand in 75 or 76 and its still going strong. Can't help with the recipes though - that's my wife forte. About the only thing I'm good for with the thing is toast and canned biscuits.

Jim, I don't have the recipe, but I'll bet you can make a killer, albeit small, okra pot pie in that oven.

Potteralice,

I think they were even cheaper than Coleman's site, at Wal-Mart or Academy.

Hey! That's it. Sorry okra doesn't grow here.
I like to cook when camping. I think taking over the kitchen at the trailer makes wife's holiday a little better.
Tried the oven out today with blueberry muffins and I guess we'll keep it since they dissapeared before they got a chance to cool. I'll never be a gourmet chef but this will sure up the score. I like the "Company's Comming" cookbook series. First picked them up for back pack camping and now they are comming in handy. "One dish meals" and "Make ahead meals" can be done at home and reheated in camp. makes you look like a pro.

I prefer this one. It's lighter, easy to use, and NO dirty baking pans.

I've baked some pretty fine muffins, cornbread, biscuits, and many other things using this thing.

ent]Here it is open folded and ready to use. And yes this is not a backpacker. It' weighs seven pounds and is meant for in camp use.I'll still use the other method when back country canoe camping. Going to spend ten days on the White River and Lake Superior in Northern Ontario end of July. Just myself, my son, and a couple of friends.Ought to be a blast.

James, when I got mine at Wal-Mart, the handle was broken off so I took it back and got another one. In the shuffle, I wound up with two grates for inside. When Lee makes cornbread, it comes in handy.

She used it on the stove inside the trailer once when it was windy out; worked like a charm, but it got warm in there.

If you can get another grate, I'd recommend it.

Oh dont use one of those oven inside your egg!! at least in a casita anyway the heat ended up melting the cooktop fan and outside flapper and some other bits and pieces ..
It was not me that this happened too but a fellow camper.
