Just wondering how many meals worth of frozen meat you can fit into your tiny freezer? I usually manage to fit in two small pork chops or two small chicken breasts, a wee packet of ground beef and two servings of fish.

Any other frozen items go on the bottom of the fridge - usually a stew type meal or two and some frozen home made soups for lunches. The frozen bacon is tucked in somewhere along with some frozen sausage of some sort.

The freezer in our trailer is so small that it is almost useless .
We took a cooler which we lined with 1 1/2" Dow foam. We place frozen items in the cooler and add a hunk of dry ice. We have gone four days in the summer and the food in the cooler has stayed frozen . I am not a fan of recreational shopping so the longer we can stay away from a grocery store ,the happier I am.

I have a couple of YETI coolers. They're expensive as hell, but they are really well built and hold the cold far longer than any of the other dozen-odd various brand coolers I own. They are also compatible with dry ice for cooling in them as well. Not all coolers out there can tolerate dry ice, and most of their manufacturers even say not to use dry ice, (so be careful and check before using it in your cooler.) It could destroy it. I can start with frozen food, packed in the cooler with dry ice, and keep it frozen for several days in the Nevada high desert (over 100 degrees F during the daytime).

One note , when purchasing dry ice avoid the crushed / shaved style. The crushed / shaved lasts about 2 days if you are lucky . The block dry ice last much longer. It's the same principle as ice cubes versus block ice.
