Lemonade

I haven't made real lemonade in years. Recently I stumbled on this very simple recipe and had to make some. It's as good as I remember.

1 cup lemon juice ( 4 medium lemons)
2/3 cup sugar
4 cups cold water

Mix and enjoy.

Then there's also the "big kid" version as well.

Lemon Yuccah Jug:

This recipe is best made with a group of friends because it takes a lot of shaking of the jar to work best.

Ingredients:

1 Gallon screw-top Glass pickle jar
8 Lemons, quartered
1 Cup of Sugar
1 Quart of 100 Proof Neutral Spirits, (aka Everclear), (or 100 Proof Vodka)
1 Bag of Ice
1 Bath Towel (to wrap the jar)

In the clean 1 Gallon screw-top "pickle jar," add your quartered Lemons, Sugar, and the Quart of 100 proof Neutral Spirits or Vodka.
Screw the lid on tightly, and let it sit out at room temperature for at least 24 to 48 hours before using.(kind of like making "sun tea." (You will want to give it a good shaking every now and then to get the sugar well dissolved.)

When you are ready to drink it:

Fill the jar full of ice, packing as much ice as you can into it. Wrap the towel around the jar and start shaking the heck out of it for a few minutes and pass it to your friend, they also do the same, and so on.

Check every couple of minutes to make sure it is still full of ice, and if you need to, add more, but try to keep the towel wrapped around the jar.

After around 10 to 15 minutes, the jar will begin to frost-over and the towel will be sticking to the jar.

That's when it is time to drink it.

make your life a LOT easier, take the sugar and make a simple syrup by simmering just enough water to dissolve it, then chill this syrup.

we mix the fresh lemon juice with the simple syrup and bottle it as a concentrate, then at an event, add the concentrate to a punch bowl full of ice and cold water, blam instant fresh lemonade

For me it would be "blam" instant lingering headache.

From lemonade? That's most unfortunate.

This is one of the simplest and at the same time the best lemonade recipes that I know. Almost a recipe from my childhood.

I make lemonade at least 3 times a week for my children. It's one of our favourites drink in our family. We have an electric citrus juicer, so we do it just in few seconds. I can tell you that in the start my kids couldn't drink lemonade and wanted all the time drinks with a lot of sugar like coke but with the time I get use them to drink lemodae and today they can't without it. Lemonade is a really healty and tasty juice
